This past week, Jean Grae came through in the clutch with “Cookies or Comas”. The DJ Drama hosted mix offered some hard-hitting tracks like the Boogie Blind-produced “Casebasket” 
. In addition to Jeanius, another fellow female emcee Da Brat dropped her post-prison mixtape “Life After Death”. Cory Gunz was set to drop “Your Gift” on his birthday (June 22nd), but no evidence of that gift has been received. This week, however, the biggest mixtape comes from Curren$y. Spitta’s “Weekend At Burnies” will be available on June 28th for retail and was already available for a brief time as a free stream. Tracks like “Money Machine” , “She Don’t Want a Man” , “You See It” , and “This Is the Life” have already circulated and the mixtape comes highly anticipated, as Curren$y has mentioned “Weekend At Burnies” for well over a year.
Kendrick Lamar will finally drop “#Section80” on July 2nd. While this mixtape has been subject to several pushbacks, some leaks have already been spotted, including one last week “Hol Up” . Since there’s actual music available, perhaps this date will stick.
