Missy Elliott has made it clear that she’s not here for hate towards either Cardi B or Bia for using “She’s A Bitch” in recent songs.

The Virginia legend took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday (February 29), to respond to a fan who saluted both ladies for sampling her classic 1999 song.

“Who cares if @BIABIA & @iamcardib sampled from same song. I’m listening to both regardless because it’s paying homage to @MissyElliott,” the fan wrote, which prompted Misdemeanor to respond with a hands making a heart emoji.

Last March, Bia dropped a single that drew inspiration from Missy’s 1999 track “She’s A Bitch.” The Los Angeles native tapped superproducer Timbaland — Missy’s longtime collaborator and producer on the original song — to bring the track to life.

Soon as you see me I up it, I’m gone/ I’m really livin’ the shit in my song/ Glock in my bag and it don’t got a safety/I make the money, I don’t let it make me,” BIA raps on the track, called “I’m That Bitch.”

In the accompanying video, she also pays homage to Missy’s iconic futuristic Hype Williams-directed visual.

Then on Friday (March 1), Cardi released “Like What (Freestyle),” which also used elements of “She’s A Bitch.”

Cardi and Bia aren’t the only rappers to update Missy’s track.

Ski Mask the Slump God remade the tune in 2017, and he wasn’t happy about “Like What.”

The Florida rapper took to social media on Friday (March 1) to quote-tweet Cardi promoting the video for her new track, while commenting, “Sounds Kinda Familiar.”

He was referring to his song “Catch Me Outside,” which uses a beat extremely similar to “Like What.” “Catch Me Outside,” whose video was directed by Cole Bennett, bills itself as a “remix” of “She’s a Bitch.”

Production on “Like What (Freestyle)” is credited to James “DJ SwanQo” Steed, Sean Island, OctaneThisThatGas, and Lateef. In addition to the producers, Cardi, Missy and Timbaland all receive writing credit, according to Spotify.

Ski Mask self-produced “Catch Me Outside,” and only he, Missy, and Tim have writing credits, according to a search of the Songview database.
