Milwaukee rappers Jigg and Celly Cell have been killed in what authorities are calling a double homicide.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that the shooting happened in the early morning hours of Tuesday (December 19). Details about the shooting are scarce and no arrests have been made as of yet.

The rappers were subsequently identified in the media by their respective family members.
Peggy Wright, the mother of Jigg (real name Joevon Wilder), described him as a loving son and father whose presence would be greatly missed.

“He was a loving and caring person. He was a good father,” she said. “He had a good personality. He was a character. He was laid back and chill and would just write songs.”
Music journalist Evan Rytlewski also told the outlet that Jigg’s contributions to the Milwaukee music scene were impactful.

“Jigg was part of the first wave of Milwaukee rappers that made 1, 2 million plus streams possible, and look easy,” he said. “A big, charismatic guy built like an action figure, he was one of the most recognizable artists in the city for a time.”
Tributes to the Milwaukee rappers also started pouring in all over social media.

With more than 32,000 followers on Instagram, Jigg recently made a big splash on YouTube with “One Way Jigga,” which has more than 138,000 views as of this writing.
Police have not yet identified or shared a motive for the murders. They are asking the public to provide any tips that may lead to the interrogation and arrest of the person or persons responsible for the double murders
