Mike WiLL-Made It is not a fan of one of the most popular trends in Hip Hop as of late, so much so that he considers it a pet peeve.

The multi-platinum producer took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday (May 16), where he revealed that he is exasperated with what he sees as a lack of originality in today’s music.

“sick of hearing remakes , nothing like original shxt,” he wrote. “please dnt feature on your classic remake, it’s a pet peeve of mine [sad face, fingers crossed emoji].

When a fan countered that labels were largely to blame for what he was complaining about, Mike WiLL put the onus back on the creatives.

“the labels dnt care about that because they are distribution companies , they just put the shxt on the shelf…,” he replied. “its on the production company or the independent artist… a major record label don’t care what is made & not supposed to either. Their mission is to get it on the shelf and come with marketing to get it to sell off the shelf.”

In the caption, she revealed the project, titled Lemon Cars, will drop on May 24.

Just weeks prior, the super producer joined forces with Chief Keef to dish out a brand new mixtape, Dirty Nachos.

In late February, the pair released a track titled “Dirty Nachos.” Less than a month later, on Tuesday (March 12), the Atlanta producer took to social media to reveal that they will be releasing a project under the same title.
