Michael B. Jordan Added To Marvel’s “Black Panther” Movie

The mega success of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War ($700 million worldwide and counting) has set the stage for Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther title, who made his official debut in the film.

Black Panther has a date of February 16, 2018 locked in and The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the studio was able to secure more star power ahead of the early 2017 production date: Michael B. Jordan.

While the burgeoning superstar’s role has not been specified, it’s largely believed he will play a villain. Marvel opted not to comment on the matter altogether.

Jordan, 29, has superhero experience, having played Johnny Storm a.k.a. The Human Torch in the box office bomb, Fantastic Four and may ultimately become the living example on the widespread belief that there is a clear-cut difference between 20th Century Fox and Marvel when it comes to portraying the storied characters.

Black Panther is currently in negotiations to nab Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong’o to co-star alongside Boseman. The film will also reunite Jordan with his Fruitvale Station and Creed director, Ryan Coogler.

Following the new Black Panther revelations, Twitter was taken over with #BlackPantherSoLit reactions, which went the extra mile pointing out Hollywood’s largely reported diversity issue. Peep some of the best of the best down below.

    1. Its cool to see a movie about black panther coming out in 2018, but some of these black folks on social media are just jumping on the bandwagon with trying to turn this into some black pride bullshit. I bet half of these motherfuckers have never even read 1 black panther comic book, nor even knew about black panther until civil war came out. Hell, probably aren’t even fans of comics, yet wanna act like they all happy and proud to be black because this movie is getting made and will come out lol

      1. Well, now the general public gets to learn about Black Panther and the fictional nation of Wakanda. So you grumpy fellas, should be happy about that. Why is it a problem for people of color to be excited? In case you didn’t realize it, this is a good thing. More awareness, means more people reading the comic and getting into the character’s history. We’ll give you guys your Super Fan cookie, just let everyone else enjoy this and live.
