Metro Boomin has said he wants to unite some of his Hip Hop heroes for a “dream” album inspired by ’90s and ’00s rap.
The super producer revealed the idea on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “It’s always been an idea and dream of mine to create a pure and authentic 90s/early 2000s album with all the OGs and some of the new artists mixed in.”

Fans then began throwing names at Metro, who seemed receptive to the suggestions.
He replied to one fan who listed T-Pain, Akon, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, T.I., Kanye West, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Eminem and JAY-Z by posting a gif of a man writing down names.

Another fan said: “Rocky & Killa Cam over a Metro sample chop,” to which Metro replied: “This always been an idea of mine anyway so you might as well count it.”
One person also proposed JID for the project, with Metro saying the Dreamville MC “gotta be on there 4sho.”
Metro Boomin appears set for a stacked 2024, with the prolific producer teasing three album releases.
“3 at the very least,” he wrote on X earlier this momth in response to a question about how many projects he’d be releasing this year.

It’s unclear exactly which albums Metro is referring to, but he has teased highly-anticipated joint albums with Future and JID, as well as another solo album.
“I’ve already got my next 5 albums planned out so you just gotta wait and see,” Metro added in his post. “2023 was great but just watch what I do 2024!!!!! #itsgongetgreaterlater.”
The St. Louis-bred hitmaker also said he’s feeling “inspired and motivated in a way that I’ve never felt before” since turning 30 in September.
Metro has been teasing a joint album with Future for the best part of a year. The Freebandz rapper recently said it was “on the way,” although a firm release date has yet to be announced.

Since then, Metro has produced some of Hendrix’s biggest hits including “Mask Off,” “Low Life” and “Wicked,” as well as Drake collaborations “Where Ya At” and “Jumpman.”
