Method Man has been accused of assaulting his daughter’s ex-boyfriend while at a Crunch Fitness in his hometown of Staten Island, New York.

According to a report from The NY Post on Thursday (January 16), sources say the Wu-Tang Clan rapper punched 28-year-old Patrick Sokoya in the face seven times “with a closed fist.”

Sokoya apparently had a relationship with Meth’s daughter Cheyenne about a decade ago – and apparently things didn’t end well.

Sokoya reported feeling pain in his face and feeling dizzy, but reportedly refused medical attention.  A complaint report was filed with the NYPD, but Meth was not arrested.

In a statement to The Shade Room, Method Man’s lawyer denied the allegations “as reported” and reiterated his client was not taken into custody.

“Mr. Smith categorically denies the allegations as reported and has not been the subject of any arrest by any law enforcement agency,” his attorney said.

Cheyenne, who goes by Chey, recently kicked off a rap career of her own and has already received praise from veterans like Trina.

In an Instagram post last year, Chey shared a carousel of photos and videos from a Detroit concert where the legendary Florida rapper brought her out as a special guest.

“I always like to show love to people,” Trina said as she invited Meth’s daughter to join her while calling her “an inspiration.”

In another social media clip, the Diamond Princess shared some words with the newcomer, who upon walking away expressed her immense excitement by exclaiming: “Trina likes my song, bitch!”

In her caption, she added: “We told y’all I was taking over right? Trinaaaa [four heart-gesture emojis] @trinarockstarr thank you so much for having me!! I appreciate you and respect you so much for everything you do for upcoming artists!!! I PERFORMED FOR A SOLD OUT SHOW IN DETROIT!!!!!!! I still can’t believe it. I’m so grateful.”

“A lot of people would say [that he could just make a call and put me on], but at the end of the day, you gotta put in the work,” she said in an interview with Shaoliiin Entertainment in 2024. “He could do that but he rather see me work for it and really push but he’s gonna support one thousand gajillion trillion percent. But he wants to see the work too.”
