Megan Thee Stallion has received an apology from Shannon Sharpe over a crude joke he made about her last year.

The Houston rapper appeared on an episode of Club Shay Shay that was released on Monday (July 1), where the three-time Super Bowl champion and media personality took a moment to sincerely express his remorse.

“Meg, before we go any further, I wanna apologize to you personally,” he began. “I always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with you – I didn’t know if that was gonna be possible. But I was always hoping that I got an opportunity to bump into you.

“Because I made a comment, I think it was like September or October, and I told a joke. I sad it in jest, but I believe the joke would’ve been just as funny if I had left you out of it.”

He added: “So for any unwanted attention, harm, shame or embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I wanna say as a man, as I sit here before you, I apologize.”

Megan responded: “I appreciate that.”

The pair then raised a glass of Shay by Le Portier as Sharpe gave her flowers for her successful career.

“Anytime someone comes on the show, we have to toast,” he said. “Because you’ve been amazing and you have an amazing career going forward.”

Shannon Sharpe made the original comments during an appearance on Nightcap last November after co-host Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson asked him about his crush on Megan Thee Stallion.

“I’d have her stretched out like quarter-to-three,” he said. “I do it three ways, Ocho: deep, hard and continuously. That’s all I got, Ocho. You better stop playing.

“I’d have her opening up like saloon doors… You know my walk [is] a little off right now, but I still do something a little here and there.”

The former NFL star was roundly criticized online, with many calling his remarks “wildly inappropriate,” especially in the post-#MeToo era.
