Megan Thee Stallion‘s legal team is “exploring all legal options” in regards to bloggers who have posted misinformation about the rapper’s felony assault case against Tory Lanez.

A new report from NBC News on Wednesday (December 21) looks into all the media coverage that the incident and subsequent trial has gotten since it happened in July 2020.

The piece points out how many people question whether Meg was shot at all, and how bloggers and media personalities have fueled the fodder with their commentary that often times skewed in Tory’s favor.

Speaking to the publication, one of Megan’s lawyers, Alex Spiro, said he and Meg are exploring all legal options against outlets that “purposefully shared misinformation” about the case. For now, they have been flagging social media posts as abusive content – some of which included blogger Milagro Gramz’s coverage.

In May, Gramz posted an image of an LAPD report from Meg’s arrest stating the first doctor to see the “Savage” rapper “confirmed laceration due to stepping on glass” – but the blogger didn’t add the fact the report was written before bullet fragments were discovered in Meg’s feet during surgery. As a result, many called this “proof” that Megan wasn’t shot at all.

DJ Akademiks shared Gramz’s post in a live stream and added conspiracy theories that Megan was never hit with any bullets.

Speaking to NBC News, Gramz said her reporting isn’t always meant to be “factual,” but sometimes just comedic commentary.

“On my end, everything is not going to be something that was intended to be a factual statement,” Gramz said. “It might have a comedic effect.”

Seven of Gramz’s tweets were reported to Twitter by Meg’s legal team, resulting in her account being locked for 11 hours due to violations of Twitter rules. Megan’s team confirmed they received a message stating the account had been locked because of their claims.

When reached by NBC News for comment, NoJumper‘s Adam22 said his coverage of the case has been unbiased – despite people accusing him of favoring Tory. “In no way are we trying to push any agenda in favor of meg or tory,” Adam said.

Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked was also reached for comment, as he previously baselessly implied that Megan Thee Stallion may have been “aggressive” with Tory during the incident and that Tory acted in “self-defense.”

Lee said the goal of HU is “to be unbiased,” and that his personal opinions don’t reflect that of Hollywood Unlocked.

The report arrived on the same day conservative political pundit Candace Owens spoke out in Megan’s defense over the biased coverage.

“She turned down hush money and has been stabbed in the back by her friends. Instead of getting showered with support, Megan was mocked,” Owens said. “I can’t imagine what it would be like in her position.

“Megan was mocked by women and men alike, particularly in Black culture,” she added. “They couldn’t believe this situation happened; they think it’s funny maybe that she got shot in the foot and had to get surgery performed. You’re not seeing a bunch of people that are calling out Tory for this violence. No!”

Closing arguments for the trial are currently in progress. A verdict is expected in the coming days.
