Meek Mill has been slammed for supporting Tory Lanez during his headlining performance at Rolling Loud Portugal, despite him being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion three years ago.

The Dreamchasers boss headlined the Algarve festival on Friday night (July 7) where he shouted “free Tory Lanez” after performing their 2016 DC4 collaboration “Litty.”

“That was fucking lit,” an amped Meek told the crowd after running through the song. “Free Tory Lanez too, one time.”

Considering his checkered past with Tory and former ties to JAY-Z’s Roc Nation — which reps Megan — fans were perplexed to hear Meek Mill backing the controversial Canadian rapper.

“Meek Mill should be giving Lil Tory survival tips for life inside the slammer,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while another added: “Meek Mill is always on the wrong side of history. Even if you feel in your heart of hearts Tory should be free you just keep it to yourself.”

Meanwhile, others welcomed Meek speaking up, claiming: “90% of the industry knows Tory is innocent, Meek shouting Free Tory should tell you something This only the beginning.”

After teaming up on multiple tracks and teasing a joint project, Meek Mill and Tory Lanez’s friendship appeared to go sideways following the 2020 Megan Thee Stallion shooting.

Tory addressed his fallout with Meek on last year’s “Mucky James” after the Philly native told him, “I don’t fuck with you” on Instagram.

“Meek Mill, he used to be my dawg, he did some flaw shit to me/ And when I brought it up, lil’ cuh wouldn’t even talk about it/ Ain’t beefin’ with you cuh, I swear I’m more hurt than anything,” Lanez rapped on the track.

As for Tory (real name Daystar Peterson), he has remained behind bars without bond since December when he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion following a high-profile two-week trial in Los Angeles.

The Sorry 4 What rapper is facing a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison, as well as deportation to his native Canada.

Prosecutors have called for him to receive a 13-years sentence, citing the “high level of callousness” and “high degree of indifference for human life” he displayed when he allegedly shot Megan in the feet during a drunken dispute in July 2020.

Lanez was supposed to learn his fate on June 13, but his sentencing was delayed at the last minute at the request of his legal counsel, who now have until August 1 to submit a sentencing recommendation ahead of a new sentencing date of August 7.
