Meek Mill has delivered his first television interview since his release from prison on Tuesday (April 24). The rapper walked free after the Philadelphia Supreme Court overrode the judge’s initial decision to keep him behind bars until his next hearing.
Mill — who remains on bail — spoke with NBC Nightly News’ Lester Holt, who asked the Philadelphia rapper if he now feels free.
“No, I don’t feel free,” he said. “I ain’t feel free since I caught this case at the age of 19. I’m 30 now.”
Mill continued, “I pray. I believe God is my first lawyer, I always believe that. I got a strong team behind me. I got a lot of support. There’s a lot of lights shedded on my situation.”
Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Grubin also spoke with Nightly News, explaining why people should take interest in Mill’s case.
“Because his story is so much bigger than his life,” Grubin said. “This is about how he can the symbolic change agent that was needed for major criminal justice reform. That’s why you should care.”
Mill’s interview with Lester Holt is part of an upcoming hour-long episode of Dateline.

hes now more famous for going to jail than he is making music…
Umm.. nah. People actually enjoy his music. Myself included. But i didn’t like the last album compared to previous projects.
He has NO HITS. he’s most known for dating Nicki and that corny ass overrated intro
This guy was free and was still out here orchestrating vicious assaults on people like Quentin Miller, Beanie Sigel, Safaree, etc, etc… but now he wants to act like some innocent angel the system tried to hold down… If he didn’t violate probation a dozen or more times he would have been free and clear
Just a punk rich celebrity bitch playing victim. He’s a victim of his own decisions…..
I guarantee everyone will try to get a Meek collabo like they did after Boosie was released. Nobody gave a fuck about him before incarceration.
Doesn’t feel free because butthole still burning from cellmate. Meek did 50 years you know.
I guess I’m glad Meek is out of prison but he put that on himself. Everyone wants to talk about how he was treated unfairly but what led up to him being treated unfairly?? Like you were on probation for a reason. All he had to do is stay out of and away from trouble and a few other obligatory probation requirements and he’d be off probation by now. I hope he makes a change for the better and hip hop as a whole is fake. Only people that were riding for Meek was MMG and Roc Nation. Now he out everyone is riding for him…. FAKES! If Meek was smart he should take a tally of who was actually there for him while he was in prison and who just trying to ride the wave.
Well put and written bruh!
Want a piece of advice bro? Then dont sit and glorify that life for a decade then try and play the victem later aint G at all everyone knows the systems fucked and once your in it its hella hard to get out of but you made MILLIONS of dollars and still fucked up and kept yourself in it when you had every chance in the world to not act a fool aint got a bit if sympathy outa me man but good thing your out dont wish prison bars on anyone other than people peddling to kids chomos and murderers
