Meek Mill has given Lupe Fiasco his flowers, calling the Chicago native an “advanced” artist.

The Philly rapper took to X on Tuesday (January 30) to show love to Lupe’s 2005 debut album Food & Liquor, kicking things off by fanning out over “The Instrumental.”

“This song breaks down the phone,” he said of the track, which tackles young people’s addiction to electronic devices. “I used to listen to this and wonder what the box is. The box is my phone for me!”

Meek Mill also called the Kanye West-produced “The Cool” one of his favorite songs from Lupe Fiasco’s catalog.

“This song was one of my favorite of all times too from lupe!!” he wrote while sharing a link to the track.

When one of his followers said “The Cool” made them a fan of Lupe the first time they heard it, Meek responded by calling the Windy City rhymer “advanced” while also giving props to “The Pressure” which features JAY-Z.

“He was advanced to me!” he said. “It’s a song he got with jayz on there there they both smoked it.”

Lupe Fiasco came across Meek Mill’s post about “The Instrumental” and responded with a prayer emoji while asking his followers — in emoji form — what they interpreted “the box” to be.

Lupe Fiasco previously showed love to Meek Mill in 2015 after he accused Drake of not writing his own lyrics.

The Chicago rapper weighed in on the heated discussion by revealing he enjoyed both Meek and Drizzy’s music, before telling a story about meeting the MMG representative for the first time.

He recalled Meek’s “electric” energy and the words they exchanged, which included a suggestion about cutting his dreads.

“Once while in Philly I went to do an interview in a shabby and very hood basement studio complex,” Lupe wrote on Instagram at the time.

“I peeked into one of the rooms and it was this tall kid with his shirt off bouncing up and down in the booth with an energy that was electric. I gave him my regards. He gave them back. I think I mentioned something about him cutting his dreads.”

He added: “As I left I remember him rapping something about being a boss. The rest is history.”
