MC Hammer Appears On Social Media Conference Panel

    On August 31 rapper turned reality star Stanley Kirk Burrell, known to most as MC Hammer [click to read], made an appearance at a social media networking conference at Harvard University.

    Entitled the Gravity Summit, the conference was put on to inform entrepreneurs and marketing experts of how to make the most use of social media outlets. The conference has already made stops at Stanford University and the University of California at Los Angeles and Irvine.

    With over a million followers on Twitter and 43,000 Facebook fans Hammer [click to read] is well versed in the world of social media networking.

    “I’m both an entrepreneur and a brand,”
    Hammer told attendee‘s of the conference. “Being in the center of my universe is important to me. That’s what Twitter lets me do…I want to get out in front of the conversation.’’

    Currently Hammer and his family are the stars of A&E’s Hammertime [click to watch], a reality show that revolves around the lives of Hammer and his family.

    “Social media is all about visibility and awareness,’’
    Hammer explained. “It’s a great way to add value to my brand.”
