Master P’s son, Mercy Miller, helped Notre Dame deliver its first CIF Division I basketball state championship in the California school’s history.

Miller’s Notre Dame defeated Livermore’s Granada 67-58 on Friday night (March 10) in a thrilling match-up at the Golden 1 Center where the NBA’s Sacramento Kings call home.

The junior guard and son of Master P played an integral role in the victory as he poured in the game’s first four points to finish with 17 points, along with nine rebounds, five assists and five steals.

“We had a shot to do something special, win a state championship,” Miller said to MaxPreps. “We made that our goal and we got it done tonight.”

Miller still has another year of eligibility and will look to make it back-to-back state titles for Notre Dame before he heads off to play for Kelvin Sampson and the University of Houston in the fall of 2024.

Mercy Miller and Notre Dame ended the high school career of LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, when they throttled Sierra Canyon High School in the semi-finals earlier in March by a score of 80-61.

Basketball runs deep in the Miller family’s blood. Master P’s son, Hercy Miller, is currently a sophomore guard playing in college for the Louisville Cardinals and the New Orleans rap mogul himself had NBA hoop dreams with a pair of stints in training camp with the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors in 1999 respectively.

At 29 years old, P even poured in eight points in a pre-season game with the Raptors but thought he wasn’t given a fair chance to make the team because of his celebrity status.
