Ma$e has defended rising WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark against the recent onslaught of criticism regarding her ongoing issues with hard fouls.

In an interview with NBC News that dropped on Monday (June 3), the Indiana Fever rookie revealed that she tried not to let criticism bother her — even though she is the third-most fouled player in the league.

“I wasn’t expecting it,” she said, when asked about her most recent foul. “But I think it’s … just respond, come down, let the play do the talking. It is what it is. It’s a physical game, go make the free throw and then execute on offense.”

On an episode of the It Is What It Is podcast that dropped the same day, Ma$e also took up for Clark.

He concluded: “Not that you should be helping her, but you definitely shouldn’t be trying to hurt her. It shouldn’t be over-aggression towards Caitlin, because it comes across at hating.”
