Ma$e‘s story about a slew of Bloods hunting him down in the aftermath of The Notorious B.I.G.‘s death has prompted Diddy‘s former bodyguard to share new details about the incident.

In a clip from a recent interview on The Art of Dialogue with Gene Deal, the ex-bodyguard spoke in detail about the tragic night.

Gene Deal said instead of Ma$e going to the infamous 1997 VIBE party in Los Angeles, he decided to stay in his hotel room, where he was allegedly relaxing with Brandy.

It was at this point where Murda Ma$e said that there were Blood gang members who were apparently looking for more Bad Boy artists after Biggie was gunned down.

“I called Ma$e that morning, and me and Ma$e spoke,” Gene Deal explained. “And then, he was telling me how all them Bloods and everything that was out there. So, I was with a couple of dudes that was from Black Hands — which is a part of the Black Guerrilla Mafia.

“We just went to the end of his hallway. He said it was a lot of Bloods out there. It’s some dudes out there I wasn’t recognizing. You know I recognize, but I don’t think it was — You know, he said it was like 70 [Bloods]. When I got there, it wasn’t that many dudes out there like that, but he could’ve seen 70, 17, 20, 30. When you think somebody tryna get you, and n-ggas is running the hallways, because they know Bad Boy was staying there, it’s a lot of dudes.”

Ma$e reflected on the horrific circumstances after he was asked about Biggie’s death by Cam’ron on a previous episode of their sports talk show It Is What It Is.

“I was in a hotel. I was actually in a hotel with a young lady,” he said. “I was trapped in the hotel. It was about, probably like, 70 or so Bloods in the hallway. I couldn’t even leave my room.”

He added: “After Big got killed, they were probably looking for more Bad Boy artists. And I couldn’t even leave the room ’til Gene Deal [Diddy’s former bodyguard] had to come get me.”

“Damn, that’s fucked up,” an unusually somber Cam’ron replied. “Sorry.”

“I was left in L.A. And from that day, I always said, ‘I’m outta here,’” Ma$e continued. “I was left! I came there with people; I ain’t leave with those people. You know how it goes. Find your way home.”

When asked how he was able to leave the hotel and make it back home safely, the Harlem World rapper replied: “To my recollection, I think we had to go to Vegas or something like that to get back to New York.”
