Maino has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of a young woman who was tragically killed in a fatal stabbing incident in Brooklyn.

“I just want to say… I want to extend my deepest, sincerest condolences to the family of those twins,” the “Poetry” rhymer began, referencing an incident where a 19-year-old was fatally stabbed and her twin sister wounded in Brooklyn after rebuffing advances from two men.

“You know, the incident that happened earlier this week. That shit been on my mind all week. Like, it’s been on my mind all week. It was kinda hard for me to go back to regular posting when I felt something like tragic happened. I can’t even imagine what that would feel like.

“You know I got a two kids of my own, you know. I couldn’t imagine what that family is going through,” he added. “Speedy recovery to the other twin. I understand she was stabbed, too. You know, this happened in Brooklyn and I just felt like I wanted to say something about it because it’s so wrong on so many levels. So, my condolences,” he continued.

According to CBS News, investigators say a man made unwanted advances towards the sisters inside the deli on Fourth Avenue and St. Marks Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

When they rejected the advances, one man fatally stabbed 19-year-old Samyia Spain in the chest, along with her twin sister who was stabbed in the arm.

Maino’s show of support comes shortly after another rapper, Meek Mill, made a call for action to combat violence in his hometown of Philadelphia.

The outspoken rapper and activist took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (March 20) to propose a generous deal to help fund gun violence initiatives with his recording income.

He wrote: “Ima do a public contract with the city of Philadelphia where 10% of my music earnings go to the city of Philadelphia to combat gun violence in our city… ima start this movement! PIP [sic] PHAT GEEZ.”

He added: “I wanna do in [sic] contract the city of Philadelphia!”

The proposal was in response to the tragic killing of fellow Philadelphia rapper Phat Geez, who was killed outside of his own home.

Earlier this week, Meek paid tribute to Phat Geez on X (formerly Twitter) and criticized the high levels of violent crime in the city.
