Ludacris hopefully softened the blow of Usher‘s cancelled concert in their hometown of Atlanta with what he dubbed “the hottest cookout of the summer.”

As previously reported, Usher was forced to postpone the kickoff of his Past Present & Future Tour just hours before doors were set to open on Wednesday (August 14).

While he didn’t exactly specify the reason outside of not being “100%,” he later explained he suffered a neck injury and was postponing both the aforementioned show as well as two more dates he had in Atlanta later this week to December.

But luckily some fans were able to attend Luda’s Cookout on the other side of town, which was the result of a partnership between himself, Atlanta’s Black Restaurant Week and Stella Artois.

Though the event was invite-only, Stella Artois’ ‘Let’s do Dinner Summer Series’ sweepstakes allowed for some attendees to win their way in.

Seemingly always one to come through in a bind, Ludacris also treated Milwaukee fans to a free performance earlier this summer after the rapper’s show got canceled due to weather conditions.

Scheduled for June 22, the Wisconsin city’s heavy rain and thunderstorms left officials with no choice but to can the show for safety concerns. However, Luda didn’t want to leave fans dissatisfied, so he headed over to the 3rd St. Market Hall with a mic and performed while he walked around the area.

“My Show In Milwaukee Got Cancelled Last Night Due To Rain & Thunderstorms But I DEFINITELY Wasn’t Leaving The City Without Touching The People,” he said in an Instagram post with a video of the performance. “Shouts to @stevedastoner4149 for the #freeconcert inspiration.”

And consistent in putting on a great show, Ludacris recently received his first-ever Webby Award for his epic performance during the Atlanta Falcons Hip Hop 50 celebration last year.

Taking to Instagram to react to the honor in April, the rapper-turned-actor thanked the committee and confessed that it was on his agenda regardless of the award.

“I just received word that I’ve received a Webby Award — the Internet’s highest honor,” he said in a video. “For rappelling down from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I’m blown away, because I wanted to do this shit anyways.”

He continued: “So thank you to the Falcons. And thank you to everybody involved. Everyone who knows me, knows I’m a thrill-seeker, knows I’m an adrenaline junkie. And I think it’s dope to be honored for something I’d do any-damn-way.”
