Longtime Dr. Dre Production Team Member Dawaun Parker Readies EP

Boston, Massachusetts native Dawaun Parker has been a major production resource to Aftermath Entertainment for over five years. Joining the likes of Mark Batson, Denaun Porter and Che Vicious, Parker has assisted Hip Hop production icon Dr. Dre on a number of compositions for Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z and Eminem.

It was announced this afternoon that Parker is at work on a forthcoming EP called The Decision. Details are still releasing, but the producer is said to be releasing the project’s first song this Wednesday, reportedly called “Lost.” The song is said to feature some co-production from Dr. Dre.

Speaking with HipHopDX last May, Parker explained Dre’s hand in his own success and development. “[My] production has increased exponentially because of Dre’s help and his tutelage and things that he’s said to me. ‘Try this and try this.’ None of the music would have even gotten made, that I contributed to, that any of us contributed to, if Dre wasn’t there.”

Previously, Dr. Dre has produced several of his beat-making collaborators including Sam Sneed, Daz Dillinger (as Tha Dogg Pound) and Cold187um (as Above The Law).

      1. Yeah, why don’t you round that out to an even century mark of wackness.

I had flick my finger like four times to get through that bullshit.

    2. wonder if this gona b an Aftermath release… seem like nobody on Aftermath right now..only Eminem, 50 Cent, Hayes(i kno ‘who da fuk is dat?’) and Slim Da Mobster(smh, waste of time)…I really hope dre put out detox so that Aftermath can b ontop again and that he gives really good artistes a chance..chek my myspace for dat real rap no gimmicks:

    3. Yo, why this nigga chin so swole like that LMAO!

But foreal though, Park got beats. Maybe we’ll get some shit off of Detox for it.

    4. best beat that parker has worked on in my opinion is from one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years Busta rhymes: the big bang. if it wasn’t for a couple Sh#t singles that were thrown on at the last second this album would have been a full on classic. Parker worked on a couple songs but I LOVE “get you some” hard F’in beat!
