An actor in Logic’s “Super Mario World” video has responded to a woman accusing Logic and his team of posing as high school students to avoid paying her non-profit organization for filming at its location.
Carolina Salguero, founder of PortSide New York, claims she agreed to allow Logic and his team to film on top of a 90-year-old oil tanker for free as she was told it was for a school project.
After the video’s release, however, Salguero realized that Logic was a then 26-year-old artist signed to Def Jam, and not, as she had been told, a student filming a school project. She later asked for a $5,000 donation and despite alleged reassurances from Logic’s team, she has yet to receive anything financially.
George DeNoto, who plays Mario in Logic’s video, took to Twitter on Tuesday morning (January 30) to respond to the situation.
“No one was trying to lie to avoid anything, we all figured it would be funny for the video to act like i was filming a school project,” DeNoto wrote, referencing the end of the video where he clearly asks to use the boat “for a summer school project.”
DeNoto goes on to claim that no fee was agreed upon at the time, and that had a payment been requested, they wouldn’t have shot the video there.
“No one there was aware of any ‘5000$’ payment to use a boat for 5 minutes. Im sure if that was the case it never would have been used.”
DeNoto appears to suggest they posed as high school students because it was “funny,” and not because they were trying to circumvent any financial costs.
Logic has yet to respond to the controversy.

That vid sucks but so does Logic so I wasnt expecting much.
This is pathetic. Don’t coy behind “Peace and Love” as a factor in making things free for you. Handle your business professionally. This gives some serious credence as to what Joyner has said about Logic. Saying your on a positive tip but using people any opportunity you have shows some serious discrepancies in the person behind the message.
You all sound dumb. So what if he told her they were students, noone is paying $5000 to film a bus. Thats idiotic to think someone would pay that because you tell them to. She realized he was rich after the fact and saw $$$$. How many other people has she rent the bus out to for $5000?
i thought this meant louis logic was making a comeback.. turns out its this logic is a nerdy looking dweeb. wtf
Seriously? Y’all lied and didn’t ask permission and said it was for a high school project–why would you assume anyone would be psyched about anything? If you had been like “Yo we’re making a hip hop video and it’ll be seen by 10million people,” the lady could have least made an informed decision, and might have even done it for free. Just lame behavior–it’s a non-profit that help high school kids! They had a year to make it right and they could even do that. Pathetic. I think all this Peace and Love and Positivity is just branding and PR.
Peace and love man…say those words and you’re absolved of all wrong doing…you just felt up some chick? you’re all about peace and love brother. We’re so fucked if people actually give any merit to this excuse.
Yeeeah, it’s really not that serious.
See this is the fucking problem with this damn generation. They think because they posted you on their corny ass social network page that exposure is good enough and they don’t need to pay you. Exposure and views don’t pay the bills. Pay that lady or get ready to get taken to court. Fucking leeches! smh!
