2023 has been somewhat of a rough patch for Lizzo who has faced a string of shocking allegations.

In September, the singer, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring and her dance captain Shirlene Quigley were all sued by three former dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez — over allegations that Lizzo weight-shamed and sexually harassed them.

In the suit, Lizzo was accused of pressuring Davis into touching a nude performer at an Amsterdam club in February 2023.

The Grammy-winner and her legal team quickly denied the claims, calling them “a fabricated sob story.”

In a pivot in strategy, the 35-year-old’s attorneys recently petitioned the courts to seal documents related to the ongoing suit, claiming that failure to do so could result in a detriment to her business.

According to Radar Online, the petition said Lizzo worries that “documents, correspondence and testimony that contain sensitive, confidential information and/or proprietary business information, including employee compensation, contract negotiation, and third-party sensitive contact information” could be subjected to public scrutiny.

“These records, including portions of Declarations in support of the Motion and attached exhibits, should be ordered sealed to avoid any harm to the parties through their public disclosure,” Lizzo’s lawyers wrote in their petition, it read.

The judge has not yet ruled on the petition.
