Lil Wayne Samples Missy Elliott Classic On New Single ‘Kat Food’

Lil Wayne has consistently showered Missy Elliott with love, and now he’s sampled a classic from her catalog on his latest single.

The New Orleans rap deity returned on Friday (September 1) with “Kat Food,” which samples Missy’s 2002 hit “Work It.”

With Charlie Handsome, FNZ and Rogét Chahayed behind the boards, Weezy continues his 2023 hot streak with another strong lyrical display.

And yes, as the title suggests, there are plenty of references to Wayne’s “favorite meal.”

“I’m walking ’round my house with jewelry on/ Diamonds in my mouth, I eat her out and now her pussy glowing/ She say she a eater, I’ma feed her like I’ve cooked before/ Ass, pussy, boobs, APB, yeah, I’m lookin’ for ’em,” he raps on the track.

Produced by Timbaland, Missy Elliott’s “Work It” appeared on her fourth album Under Construction album and went on to reach No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It’s unclear if “Kat Food” will appear on Lil Wayne’s upcoming album Tha Carter VI or is just a one-off single. In any case, he promoted the single with a series of “Missing Kat” posters leading up to its arrival.

Wayne and Missy have a special bond. Earlier this year, he gifted her a custom raincoat with a matching umbrella that paid homage to her 1997 hit, “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).”

“@LilTunechi again I Thank you for the Amazing coat that you had made for me (purple my favorite color) & you even got me the umbrella that say ‘I Can’t Stand The Rain’ on it!” Missy wrote on Twitter. “It spell it out on the umbrella when it rains. I truly appreciate you.”

Weezy also surprised Missy last November by pulling up to her wax figure’s unveiling at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. The Virginia-bred rhymer returned the favor and gave Wayne his flowers.

“You have Birthed a whole generation after you & Its easy for people to acknowledge Some1’s GREATNESS when their no longer around but I want you to know YOU ARE LEGENDARY,” she tweeted. “No matter who thinks differently YOUR BLUEPRINT is PRESENT! No debate.”

    1. Why is Wayne rapping on reworked beats that his generation put out? That’s backwards. The flows are nice but cmon man, you out here on some meh business. You supposed to set trends. Not follow them like R&B artists singing on 90’s / 2000 rap beats. Wayne, tap into newer producers bc the Swizz Cheese and Tiiiiiiiiiiiiberland beats (bc he fell off too) are no longer magic. Wayne needs a Ye produced album.

      1. What would be innovative about Wayne rapping over a trap or drill beat produced by some producer that is hot right now. Even Ye has not really set trends for a long time.

    2. I like it. He sounds like his old self. Something was going on a few years ago, Wayne sounded all slow and drugged up.
