Lil Uzi Vert has warned fans about the dangers of inhaling nitrous oxide gas.

Uzi, who has been rumored to have used the substance, sat down for an interview with Pitchfork‘s “Over/Under” series where they were asked if they think whippets are overrated.

The rapper replied: “Overrated! Don’t do whippets! Them jawns will — they is bad! Yo, don’t do them. They is bad. They’ll have you eating foods you never ate, they’ll have you hanging with people you never hung with. That’s just what I heard.”

They added: “Honestly, with no money and no narrative, whippets is really bad. I’m really saying that. I don’t saying nothing is bad; I’m the guy that loves everything. Whippets are fucking bad, bro.”

Whippets is a slang term for nitrous oxide and comes in the form of small metal cannisters.

The prolonged use of the drug can lead to brain damage, as well as problems with other organs and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Lil Uzi Vert had previously said that they were ready to turn over a new leaf when it comes to the use of nitrous oxide, not long after seeming to address the longstanding rumors about their use of the drug.

In several Instagram Stories posted last month, Baby Pluto captioned a selfie: “Nomore bad stuff,” with emojis of a salute, a wind face emoji and a balloon emoji.

They also addressed fan concerns over their alleged use of nitrous oxide on their latest album Eternal Atake 2.

On the opening track “We Good,” the Philadelphia native responded to the rumors by spitting: “They said I was lost, they thought I was a dead guy, I was on that NOS.”

Uzi seemingly confirmed using nitrous oxide on the very next song “Light Year (Practice),” rapping: “I’m fresh off the nitrous, ain’t mess up ability.”

Fans were concerned about Uzi’s welfare earlier this year after a video circulated online of them inhaling a substance from a party balloon while hanging out with a group of friends in a recording studio.

One of the men in the background said in the clip: “My son is back! We got Uzi back!” to which the rapper replied: “Yes sir!” before laughing.

Several other balloons could be seen in the clip, along with an unmarked canister which was used to blow them up.
