Lil Nas X may have just outdone everybody for Halloween this year — but for all the wrong reasons.

The “Old Town Road” hitmaker turned heads on Tuesday (October 31) by stepping out in an outrageous costume inspired by the female period.

In a video shared to Instagram, Nas struts down the street dressed as a giant blood-soaked tampon, complete with white knee-high stiletto boots and a blonde wig.

What’s more, he can also be seen holding onto a piece of white string that’s attached to a huge model of a vagina.

Needless to say, Lil Nas X’s crude costume drew plenty of strong reactions in the comments section, with some people left shocked and horrified by his outfit and others finding it hilarious.

“World’s most terrifying Halloween drip. *Period*,” one follower wrote, while another said: “I almost threw up.”

“This is bloody ridiculous!!!” one punny reply read, while someone else joked about him “painting the town red fr,” a nod to Doja Cat’s hit single.

There were plenty of people who didn’t see the funny side, though, and criticized Lil Nas X for seemingly making a mockery of the menstrual cycle.

“This is so wrong you don’t even know wat we go through every month just gone laugh at our pain,” one woman complained.

“I enjoy this look but the fact that you personally have never experienced the stigma, shame or pain involved with having a period makes me pause and think……. But why though?” someone else questioned.

As if dressing up as a tampon wasn’t enough, Lil Nas X also channeled his inner Little Richard for Halloween this year. In a photoshoot shared to Instagram, the openly gay rapper recreated several iconic outfits from the rock and roll pioneer, whose own androgynous style and homosexuality helped break down doors decades ago.

“lil richard x,” he dubbed himself in the caption. “this man created rock and roll and doesn’t get enough credit for it. thank u for paving the way for me in many ways little richard. fly high [dove emoji] wooooo.”

The Atlanta native also recreated a classic Little Richard moment from his 1972 appearance on BBC’s Late Night Line-Up in which he exclaims: “Let it all hang out! With the beautiful Little Richard from down in Macon, Georgia. I am the king of rock and roll!”
