Lil Keed‘s mother has revealed her son’s official cause of death – while calling out naysayers for harming their family with rumors that insinuated otherwise.

In a statement posted to her Instagram on Wednesday (December 14), Michelle Woods confirmed that Lil Keed died from natural causes, and that no drugs or alcohol were found in his system.

“7 months after learning about the passing of my son, I’ve received his official cause of death from the doctors. In grieving my son’s death, myself and the rest of the family were caused a lot of pain by the lies and rumors spread on the blogs and the internet with false information about Raqhid’s passing,” Woods wrote. “Today, we’ve confirmed that Raqhid died from natural causes with no drugs or alcohol found in his system.

She continued: “I’m still grieving and I’m still mourning from what our family has had to go through the last 7 months and I refuse to let the lies go any further. I’m glad that the truth is finally out and I ask that everyone please be respectful of his family and his legacy. Long Live Keed.”

Though unconfirmed at the time, reports that came in the aftermath of Keed’s passing in May speculated that the cause was from organ failure. Sources close to the YSL rapper told TMZ that Keed was experiencing severe stomach pain just days before his death and sought medical treatment at a Los Angeles hospital.

Although Keed had struggled with drugs and alcohol for years, he was supposedly clean and sober in the months leading up to his death. But despite that, sources say his liver and kidneys started shutting down, which ultimately led to his passing at age 24.
