Lil Durk has continued the rollout for his next album with the release of a new single called “Turn Up a Notch.”
Debuted on Wednesday (September 25), the track finds the Chicago rap star doing just that as he cruises over skittering, guitar-plucking production from Southside and Smatt Sertified.

“Back in 2012, they counted me out / I had to turn up a notch / Back then, them hoes fuckin’ for clout / I had to turn up a notch / I’m thinkin’ you happy, but lowkey you doubted me / I had to turn up a notch / Sleepin’ on porches, I served off the balcony / I had to turn up a notch,” Smurk raps defiantly on the hook.
The accompanying video, directed by Jerry Production, finds the OTF frontman enjoying the spoils of his hard-fought success and features cameos from Sexyy Red and Hunxho.
“Turn Up a Notch” appears to be the latest single from Lil Durk’s upcoming album Love Songs 4 the Streets 3, which he’s been teasing since the start of the year.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) in January, he announced that the project was finished, writing: “Love songs 4 the streets 3 done…….. ima be on asap.”

His post was accompanied by a screenshot of an Instagram Story from Kanye West which read: “Tell Durk activate his instagram it’s time to drop.”
Durk has so far shared two other songs from the album: “Went Hollywood For a Year” and “Old Days.”
The latter, which was also produced by Southside and Smatt Sertified along with Wasa, found him opening up about his past drug addiction.
“I miss the old days, the old ways, my history iconic / I was takin’ so many pills, I was so high, I really abused it / Started sellin’ Percs, I turned around and started to use it,” he admitted.

The 31-year-old also recalled seeing the autopsy of his late friend King Von after pictures were leaked online: “The autopsy of Von body had me coughin’ up my vomit.”
Love Songs 4 the Streets 3 will serve as the sequel to 2019’s Love Songs 4 the Streets 2 and Durk’s first full-length release since last year’s Almost Healed.
