Lil Durk wants to make Hip Hop fun again and he’s saluted the female artists for doing their part in keeping the genre moving forward.

Durkio fired off a couple Instagram Stories on Thursday (June 8) giving women rappers credit for being competitive and seemingly focusing on the love for Hip Hop rather than the money-stacking aspect their male counterparts often focus on.

“Make hip hop fun again we understand everybody got money but let’s fuck em up like we was doing s/o the females who been working salute keep going up,” he wrote.

It’s unclear exactly what he’s referencing but it’s possible he’s talking about the women working with each other recently.

Cardi B made a recent splash hopping on Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor” for an epic remix, which caught GloRilla’s attention who might even add her own verse to the mix.

On the heels of Durk releasing his Almost Healed album, he’s now promising to go back to more shorter albums rather than the overstuffed 20-plus tracks. “I’m going back to 13 songs a album y’all can have that 20+ song album,” he added in a separate IG Story post.

Lil Durk earned his best solo sales week with Almost Healed, which notched another Top 5 debut on the Billboard 200 earlier this month.

According to Billboard, the project debuted at No. 3 on the chart after earning 125,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Of that sum, 122,000 came from 167.82 million on-demand official streams and 1,000 comprised of track equivalent albums (TEA), while pure album sales accounted for 2,000.

That figure marks the largest sales week of Durk’s solo career, surpassing his previous effort, 7220, which opened with 120,500 units last March.

Durk’s commercial peak, however, remains his 2021 joint album with Lil BabyThe Voice of the Heroes, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 with an impressive 150,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
