Lil Baby has been confused for an Alaskan rapper in the latest promo trailer for Saturday Night Live, which will feature Michael B. Jordan as host.
In one of the TV spots used to announce Saturday’s (January 28) upcoming show, comedian Heidi Gardner took on the role of a wrestling announcer to introduce Jordan and Baby, likely a reference to the former’s upcoming film Creed III.

While making the announcement, Garnder announced Baby as being from Alaska rather than Atlanta, which the “Yes Indeed” rapper immediately corrected.
“Alaska? I’m from Atlanta,” Baby said looking deadpan into the camera.
Baby’s SNL musical performance was announced earlier in January and comes shortly after his rap peers Gunna and Jack Harlow made their musical debuts – with the latter also handling hosting duties.
The latest performance from the Atlanta rapper comes after he had an unstoppable 2022, snagging 40 Hot 100 singles for the year, and tying with Drake for the most Billboard Hot 100 placements of 2022. The feat was thanks in large part to his third studio album, It’s Only Me, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and moved over 216,0000 album-equivalent units.
The 4PF rapper was also honored with his own day in Atlanta on November 13, with the date now being officially recognized as Dominique “Lil Baby” Jones Day going forward.
The proclamation noted Lil Baby’s successful Hip Hop career and impact as a “musical ambassador” for Atlanta but also highlighted his “generous” philanthropic efforts, including the launch of his Four the People Foundation.

Just before 2022 closed out, Baby also dropped off the first-ever music video filmed at the World Cup titled “The World Is Yours To Take.”
“I’m excited to make history with Budweiser and close out the 2022 FIFA World Cup with this unforgettable video,” the rapper said in a statement. “Working with Director X and the amazing people from around the globe, we’re celebrating what it means to bring the world together and inspire people to chase those dreams.”
