Latto has said that one classic track was her “easiest” hit to write, but admits that she will never make songs that way again for a simple reason.
The rapper sat down with Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 on Monday (April 8) to reveal that her debut single “Bitch from da Souf” was pure inspiration.

“‘Bitch from da Souf’ was like, I was pullin’ up a beat pack from Bankroll Got It, and I heard the ‘Bitch from da Souf’ beat, and I really just started writing it in my Notes [app],” she said. “Went to the studio that night, or the next day, and cut it.”
But, she said, she’ll never be able to make songs that way again. “Now, I be trying to recreate that process, because now I be overthinking everything,” she continued, “I wish I could get back in that mindset where it’s like, no pressure.”

Because of her success, she continued, there are now so many “other people involved” in her career that she can’t be as free and open as she was in the early days.

Last month, Latto made history alongside Hot 107.9 by becoming the first woman to ever headline Atlanta’s Birthday Bash concert, which is put on by the station every summer.
The “Sunday Service” star shared the news that she will headline the annual event on June 22 with a video clip that sees her recreating a scene from her “Sunday Service” music video, while heading to the radio station wearing a shirt that reads “Big Latto Bash.”

Latto celebrated becoming the first woman to topline the festival, writing on social media: “1ST FEMALE TO HEADLINE BIRTHDAY BASH!!! @hot1079atl I’m bringing out hellaaaaaaa special guests [fire emojis].”
The event also unveiled several other names scheduled to appear at the show including Key Glock, Killer Mike, Boosie Badazz and Tee Grizzley with more artists to be announced a later date. The announcement also stated that Latto will be accompanied by “friends” — meaning lots of special guests, though no names were confirmed.
Latto has had a busy 2024 so far as she continues her feud with Ice Spice.
The Bronx rap star recently aimed the “Put In Da Floor” hitmaker on her song “Think U the Shit (Fart),” where she rapped: “I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up/ She all on the floor, told her get up.”

Latto then responded to Spice, spitting on her hard-hitting new track: “Think I’m the shit, bitch, I know it, ho/ Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though”.
The song includes other less obvious stabs at her contemporary including: “These bitches corny, soon as monkey see, then you know monkey do/ Do you rap or do you tweet?/ ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, bitch” and “I just want a one on one, don’t know why she so nervous.”
