“I’m thinkin’ billions, cop anothеr buildin’, new woop Sicilian/ Thinkin’ bigger, you thought I was coolin’, I was takin’ risks/ Palisades, chillin’ in the shade, might take the Bent’/ Bettin’ on myself and every time, n-gga, it’s a hit,” Larry June brags in his trademark laidback flow.
Picking up the baton, Big Sean spits: “Look, if you not gettin’ richer every year, then you just backwards hustlin’/ You movin’ off emotion, I’m strategizin’, discussin’ it/ See, I been on my supplements/ Fish oils, chlorophyll, multis/ My hair growin’ out and hoes lovin’ it.”

In a ” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>4.2 out of 5 review, HipHopDX‘s Dash Lewis called Spaceships on the Blade “the most quintessential expression of [June’s] sound.
“It’s a 20-song, 53-minute album that never feels like a slog, as all of his experiments lock into place: he plays with Eazy-E’s ‘Boyz-N-The-Hood’ flow; he sings like a more emotionally available Nate Dogg; he raps about green juice and guns with equal reverence; he mixes screwed down tempos with nervy Vallejo bounce,” the review continued.
“In less capable hands, such variety would come off as chaotic or forced, but June’s calm confidence glues it all together seamlessly. Spaceships on the Blade is the ultimate hustler’s guide to believing in oneself.”
Alchemist also had a busy year in 2022, releasing joint efforts with Roc Marciano (The Elephant Man’s Bones) and Curren$y (Continuation) while also contributing to Benny The Butcher’sTana Talk 4, Freddie Gibbs’$$$ and Earl Sweatshirt’sSick!, among other projects.
