UK rapper Lady Leshurr has found herself in some hot water having been accused of attacking her ex-girlfriend and biting her then-partner.

According to a report from NME on Tuesday (October 17), Leshurr appeared in court this week after being arrested and charged for the October 22, 2022 altercation. The rapper (real name Melesha O’Garro) and a friend are accused of waiting outside the ex’s house before attacking her and her partner.

Leshurr reportedly bit her ex’s girlfriend on the hand after she stopped in her car, then went on to attack her ex when she ran out of the house to intervene. The latter reportedly “suffered a number of injuries.” Leshurr denies the bite, but alleges she was “punched in the head and stamped on” by her ex’s partner.

The prosecutor claims the defendants lied in the police interviews, and that their account did not explain the complainants’ injuries. The trial is ongoing.

Last year, Lady Leshurr made headlines in the United States when she called out Cardi B for using one of her beats in the 2015 song “Cheap Ass Weave.”

Originally released in 2015 prior to her mainstream breakthrough, “Cheap Ass Weave” is a remix of Leshurr’s “Queen’s Speech 4” freestyle and has racked up over 4.5 million views on YouTube alone.

As Leshurr’s original track celebrated its seventh anniversary in August 2022, the Birmingham-born rapper tweeted about wanting Cardi to compensate her for flipping one of her flagship freestyles.

“You mind asking Cardi if she can break me off a likkle change she used my beat/idea before her big break and is now a millionaire and I got paid 0,” she wrote in response to a fan mentioning Cardi’s version.

The Bronx bombshell didn’t appear to be in the giving mood, though, as she replied to Leshurr’s tweet with: “I made like 2 dollars of that song ….you want the other dollar ?”

Lady Leshurr — a MOBO Award winner who has collaborated with the likes of will.i.am and Wiley and supported Nicki Minaj on tour — responded to Cardi’s tweet by further arguing her case. She also revealed she sent the Invasion of Privacy star an unanswered DM about the song years ago.
