Eminem and Joe Budden haven’t had the healthiest relationship over the years with various shots going back-and-forth between them. Despite their history, former Slaughterhouse member KXNG Crooked is hopeful the two artists can talk things out and bury their Shady Records beef once and for all.
During a recent interview on Smoothvega’s Nothing Beats Experience podcast, Crooked talked about the possibility of Budden making music again and why he wants him to reunite with Slim Shady.
“I think Joe is gonna get in the booth,” he said. “There are some things that happened and we ain’t gotta talk about old shit. But there’s some things that happened and he said some things. He gotta understand, this is what I always tell him, ‘You have a huge voice in the game, so if you say something, that shit’s gon’ resonate.’ If he says something that I disagree with, as far as like how some shit went down on Shady Records, and you know you say, ‘Yo, it happened like this’ and I say, ‘Nah, it didn’t quite happen like that,’ you would what I mean? He just got to be careful, his voice is big.”
KXNG Crooked continued, “One day I’m hoping that him and Em will be able to sit down. They don’t gotta be friends again, they don’t got to be none of that. Just be men and sit down. Because guess what, they’re two, they cut from the same cloth. They really deep artists, they love their craft. If you listen to an Em stan and a Joe fan, it’s a lot of similarities. And they’re good dudes tryna to do the right thing. I just feel like all that was for no reason. I really wish that they would sit down and it might happen.”
Eminem took shots at Budden on the Anderson .Paak-featured “Lock It Up” off his Music to Be Murdered By album in January, rapping, “Tryna save at Kroger, so why would I give a fuck about backstabbin’ Trader Joe for?”
Budden responded to the diss on The Joe Budden Podcast by telling Em to stop calling him out.
“The same way I feel like he should stop dissing Lord Jamar, he should stop dissing me,” he said. “Hey, whatever we had, that exchange, when you did all of the videos … and when I said whatever I said on the pod, it was a moment in time, we had our exchange, and it’s over. In 2020, I can’t harbor negativity toward, not only one of the best rappers, but somebody I’m not angry at. That’s what I gotta stop doing. I don’t be mad at the people I come in and kill … There’s no hostility after that.”
Earlier in January, Joe Budden appeared on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion show, where he spoke on his good relationship with all the Slaughterhouse members, but refused to reunite with them under Eminem and Paul Rosenberg’s Shady Records.
“Those are my brothers and I love them,” he said. “Royce just did the podcast, so I spoke to him. I haven’t spoken to Joell but I just liked a picture a few days ago and he liked one back so we alright … and the same with Crook, those are my guys forever. We just not making music because Joe is not making music.”
He continued in third-person, “In Joe’s mind, there’s a world where we can co-exist. But not in that situation. In Joe’s mind, I’m not a worker. I’m not going to work for something that didn’t exist before I got here. And that’s how feel about wordsmiths. If we can’t put this together, y’all can’t monetize until we do. And that’s how I act. I’m not putting nothing out with Slaughterhouse until Slaughterhouse is away from Shady and we own our own shit.”
crook is the only one who cares.
He’s just trying to get attn for his new podcast. These guys are desperate cause now they realize no one really cares what they have to say.
LMAO you obviously don’t know good rap, you think crooked needs attention on a podcast? You dont know how big his fan base is do you the streets resonate with it, I guess thats why you fall short
I always did feel Budden will make a comeback but not sure now as time is passing. This SH thing always sounded so great years ago but each year that passed it fizzled out more and more sadly.
As long as he can still rhyme everything will be alright, poet lives forever
I wouldve agreed but seeing Royce now up for a grammy nod maybe its a good time to revist that. Im sure Budden still active wit the pen as well as the others. I dont really see it happening tho unless they get off Shady.
Is this the beginning roll out for a Budden project? Let’s revisit this in 2 years
Damn I miss those dudes rhyming together…
Game killed budden in 2005! BUDDENS BUDDENS! Fuck this bitch!
Fuck Joe Budden and Pokémon!
is the new thing for every rapper to have a podcast now? Even Math Hoffa the battle rapper has a podcast? Weird.
Anyway, yes, these two need to squash whatever beef they have and release the Glass House album. Slaughterhouse hasn’t released anything since 2012 as a group.
Slaughterhouse is technically disbanded. Although they have been marketing them like they are still a thing the last little while.
Crooked is dope but can’t make the headlines unless Joe or Em are involved in something he said. S
Fuck headlines, this site evide tly does not promote real p
Rap, king crooked dropping new material all the time, but yet they praise baby and fucking drake, sleeping on the all time great
Eminem too petty to talk it out
Ya i’ll give you Em is petty – he says it himself. But Budden is a phony backstabbing clown. Why should anyone forgive and forget all the garbage that comes out of his mouth.
He’s an interesting and great rapper but Joe’s ego alone needs its own management team, let alone 4 other dudes. So I sympathise with Shady Records & Eminem
Eminem is the GOAT
We need some Slaughterhouse.
In the real world, we would be laughing at a beef between a 40 year old and near 50 year old man.
Depends on what it’s about. I’m not sure why ppl think that your age dictates that it’s ok to beef with someone else. They got issues, they got issues…let them be.
2 people in there 70’s just duked it out for presidency of the US but beef between middle age people has perplexed you? Wild.
Why don’t these ppl stop running around trying to fix all the beefs. Mind your own dam business!!
It is his business? Like LITERALLY lol. Its both his business in the literal sense as a personality and he’s good friends with both if them and was there for all of it…
Slaughterhouse wouldn’t done numbers with or without Eminem that’s a fact, nobody cares about ‘supetgroups’ foh with your platinum dilusions
Yea this is the truth. Joe was upset about eminem adding his touch to welcome to our house, so eminem decided to step aside and let them completely do the second album. Then Joe dropped the fucking ball. Joe can blame the label all he wants but shady made them sell over 100k, they would of never done that without eminem, and the next project they were set to learn from there mistakes. But Joe was done.
You’re wack and evrey rapper you listen to. Bitter racist mutha fucka
And I want people like KXNG Crooked to “just be a man”, and stop gossiping like a bitch.
NOT GONNA HAPPEN. JOE IS A DIVA. PEEP THE TRACK RECORD.
I want it to happen so bad. but imagine thinking like this “I’m not a worker. I’m not going to work for something that didn’t exist before I got here” smh
You acting like a little bitch Joe. You signed a contract with Shady so do the work you got paid to do and keep it moving. If you want to own your shit then cut the cheque or stfu.
