Kurupt Speaks On Suge Knight Offering Deals To Anyone Who Could Beat Him In A Battle

During the newest episode of Snoop Lion’s web series, Double G News Network (GGN), the rapper revisited the past with help from fellow emcee Kurupt. Together the two former Death Row Records artists spoke on their first time meeting, battling other emcees, and the numerous rap names they went through before choosing a final name.

According to Kurupt, battling with rappers years ago was so intense that Death Row Records founder Suge Knight was willing to hand out label deals to any artist able to beat Kurupt.

“I remember Death Row was giving out deals if you could serve Kurupt,” the rapper revealed. “Remember we was out of town? Three niggas came up and these other two niggas. ‘Nigga if you can serve Kurupt, you can get a deal.’”

“Suge Knight was notorious for that,” Snoop added.

Minutes before ending his latest episode of GGN with a fitting freestyle from Kurupt, Snoop spoke on his first encounter with the rapper, which happened to be a nearly 45-minute long battle he referred to as “some magical shit.”

“So, when I bumped into you, I know I was fresh out of jail. I was turning to the Dogg,” Snoop explained. “I had the brim on with the all black and gray coat. And I’m watching you serve all my homies…I’m laying up against the wall like a Chinese karate movie nigga. This nigga cutting everybody. He just dropping all the homies…We going at it like 45 minutes strong nigga. Whoever make it out of us two, nigga it’s our responsibility to put us back together again cause this is some magical shit.”

      1. Eazy got points off Dre’s Chronic album after he put out a lawsuit against Death Row. That’s the only album he ate off of since Dre wanted to get out of his Ruthless records contract.

    3. You can say what you want but Lord G was better than all of them when he was with Death Row… and still is… maybe that’s why he ghostwrote for the Death Row camp.

    4. I’m the S-N-Double O-P
The D-O-Double G, you see (and rhymes that sound similar to this)

    5. they should release some gems and diamonds they got stashed in the vaults i heard that doggy and PAC track IF THERES A CURE FOR THIS

    6. Imagine the looks on all them niggaz faces, if Slim Shady in his prime approached them and ripped Kurupt to shreds.

      1. YOU GUYS HAVE NO CLUE. KURUPT WOULD HAVE COOKED EMINEM EASILY. MANY OF YOU GUYS SPEAKING ON EMS BATTLE CAREER HAVE NO CLUE. EM WAS A GOOD BATTLE RAPPER, BUT HE TOOK MANY L’S IN HIS CAREER. IF YOU WERE THE FAN (STAN) YOU WOULD KNOW THIS ONE ALREADY. IF YOU WANT MORE DETAILS, GO ORDER SOME OLD SOURCE/XXL MAGAZINES. IN A FEW OF THEM, HE DETAILS HIS BATTLING CAREER. SUPERNATURAL
        PACE WON
        RAH DIGGA
        BREEVEEVAFLOWING
        RHYMEFEST

CONSIDER YOURSELVES EDUCATED NOW. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING!!!

    7. Reading these comments, I see it must be a lot of young niggas and niggas who just wasn’t up on what was going on. The people who think Snoop couldn’t freestyle and are looking at his style later once he became older and the game changed.
      SNOOP WAS RIDICULOUS.
He freestyled a lot of the classic material he became known for. Songs like “The Shiznit” was a complete freestyle. Dre used to turn him loose and beats, real freestyles, not stopping and punching in when you mess up. For real.

    8. kurupt was a monster back in the day! everything he spit on back then he destroyed! i remember smokin blunts and sippin on tangueray on that dre single. that shit was like 12 minutes and kurupt and them niggas was goin in! him and rage were the most lyrical on death row back in the day!!

    9. these were the days… i miss this shit

it was soooooooo much better than the wack bullshit thats out today

      1. VERY TRUE. KURUPT IS AN ALLTIME LYRICIST. THE ONLY THING THAT HELD KURUPT BACK WAS HIMSELF. WITH THAT SAID, HE IS STILL AN UNTOUCHABLE LYRICIST.

    10. Fuck suge, niggaz still want deal from this robbin ass nigga after what he did to tupac and even vanilla ice.
