KRS-One & D.I.T.C.’s Showbiz To Release “Godsville” On February 15

In 1993, Showbiz produced one of KRS-One‘s biggest solo hits in “Sound of da Police.” The two Bronx, New York natives worked on Kris’ next two albums, as well as on Show & A.G.’s Full Scale album. Now, after several years apart, the two are planning to release a full collaborative album next month.

Godsville is releasing on February 15, 2011. This will be producer (and former emcee) Showbiz’ first album since 2005’s Diggin’ In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) compilation, Street Talk. Last year, KRS-One released a collaborative EP with another Bronx legend, Just-Ice, a collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan producer True-Master, Meta-Historical, as well as digital album Back To The L.A.B.

Three songs have been released from the album to date, “The Truth” , “Show Power” and the Fred Da Godson-assisted, “We Love This” .

    (January 20)

UPDATE: KRS-One & Showbiz’s Godsville will receive physical distribution on March 8, 2011, according to Amazon.com.

    1. Why is this great??? To hear tha same subjects over and over again that krs one is the best and that hiphop sucks nowadays and that he’s a real mc. We have heard this already 10.000 times from krs one.

it just the same lyrics over new beats. It doesn’t wack but come on? who wants to listen to a 50 year old rapper????

      1. Does age matter? If they’re good on the mic (lyrics, flow and delivery), they can be 80 for all I care.

        Dumbass.

      2. @ anonymous. faggot you don’t read what i have written its about the same lyrics over and over again. First read before you give a comment stupid faggot.

      3. Reite, read your own comment again. You did indeed ask “who wants to listen to a 50 year old rapper????”, like age matter …

      4. I can safely say that if you are an intelligent hip hop head. It doesn’t get old homeboy. This shit is still fire. Fuck, if you don’t like his lyrics you gotta respect the hell out of Showbiz’s production. On fire as ever. The song improve myself is amazing.

    2. KRS has been on a roll….the Buskshot album, Tru Master, the Premier joint, this joint…DAMN!! Dude below does have a point but KRS is KRS. the Teacher. He can be annoying tho with all the preaching he does. Hopefully this’ll be a solid project for him.

      1. Truth. KRS can get preachy but when these types of producers get him focused you can still get solid tracks. Not a lot of artists can sustain that for 5 years let alone as long as KRS. If people feel the beat and the flow, who cares about age – that’s what he’s sayin on We Love this.

    3. krs 1 sounds more like the old Kris when collaborating with showbiz, so i’m feeling it more than the other joint’s except for premier’s

    4. Let the man do what he do.

He’s a grown intelligent man. HIP HOP would not be here without this man. KRS ONE is the man who taught us all what HIP HOP is. Plus he taught us to think for ourselves and stop excepting the BS.

      STOP HATING!!!!!!!!!

HE WILL BE FOREVER, FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER HE WILL BE HERE.

      RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

    5. KRS-One could have retired a loooong time ago but we should all feel blessed that he is still where he belongs not matter his Age ! Thank you !!!

    6. KRS should’ve done a full album with Showbiz back in the late 90’s…This seems a bit too late…Showbiz’s production isn’t as rough, rugged, raw, ruthless, and hard as it use to be…The last time Showbiz did some hard shit for KRS-One was on the ‘I Got Next’ album…After that I don’t know what happened…I miss Showbiz’s old production…Today he’s got a few nice joints here and there but they don’t measure up to the monster beats he use to make from the 90’s all the way up into at least 2003…Show is not what he used to be on the beats…

      1. yeah man. I agree. I picked up his compilation album a few years back and was dissapointed. ..But i think alot of the 90’s Boom Bap producers are facing the same thing with sample clearence. Premier switched his shit up by chopping the shit outta samples he uses. PR switched his style up too. Hopefully this sounds good. tho.

    7. definitely gonna cop a cd of this heat. everybody who listens to hip hop should. for the youngins, broaden your horizons on this man. showbiz is nasty on the boards too.

wonder how it will compare, as an overall project, to meta-historical??

    8. All 3 of these tracks are crazy! I’m hitting up Itunes Feb 15 at 12am!!! KRS sounds like the old KRS and the beats are retarded! Showbiz took it to antoher level, still grimy bronx shit but sounds like 2011!!! DOPE

    9. I’M PROBABLY THE BIGGEST KRS SUPPORTER..BUT HE DOES NEED TO DO “SONGS” LIKE HE USED TO..HE’S DOIN’ STATUS QUO TYPE SH1T NOW..IT’S ALL GOOD THO..

    10. OH SHIT..
      THE TRUTH IS TIGHT..
WE LOVE THIS..I LIKE THAT HOOK..
      SHOW POWER IS GOOD..
BUT STILL I THINK THE PREMO
(WHO ALSO COULD RE-IVENT HIS SOUND)
      COLLABO SHOULD BE MORE VERSATILE

    11. I can’t wait for this physical release. I am going to the record shop and buying that. I am a supporter to the fullest of KRS-One! I have been bumping those 3 joints they already released all day! BO BO BO!!!!

    12. THIS IS TO EACH FRIEND OR FAM MEMBER ON FB:I’m not posting this on my wall right now in honor of a friend who was hit by a drunk driver and is now in a coma. Before I say anything else I do ask that you pray for her recovery.

I was recently interviewed by a west coast magazine, and just had the interview published to the mag site. If I get enough FB likes my interview will go into the actual magazine. The link is http://wwsmag.com/updates/bryant-c-caught-up-20-10/

I just ask that you take a look, and press like for me. I made it an honest interview so I’m sure that you will like it.

    13. another boring krs album with lyrics about:

      – i’m the best and you are wack
      – i make real rap and you not
      – i battle mc shan
      – i ‘m the greatest ever

hmm did we not have heard so many times from krs one.

krs you are a legend but its really time to quit rapping i mean your 55 years old. Do some productions or help new artist but dont touch the mic.

    14. @reite
Nobody wants to hear your dumbass comments but here they are! You are the reason KRS needs to keep it coming. Its a lot of idiots, like yourself, out here trying to dictate what’s hot. I can’t even listen to the so-called rap nowadays because its garbage. Get the fuck outta here! This album is dope as hell!
