Knoc

Knoc’Turnal first made his mark on Dre’s “2001” album, appearing on the tracks “Some LA Niggaz” and “Bang Bang.” Knoc really made fans notice him on “The Wash” soundtrack when he dropped his infectious hook on “Bad Intentions” with Dre. For the first single on his debut LP “Knoc’s Landin,” Knoc’Turnal has once again hooked up with Dre. The good doctor laid down the beat for “Knoc” and he appears on the track as well, along with Missy Elliot.

“We worked 72 hours in a studio non-stop recording The Wash soundtrack,” Knoc-turn’al told MTV News. “I don’t think we could do it again. The security guys would see me coming and say, ‘Man is it going to be another one of those days?'”

For the last three years, Knoc has been preparing this album, which is due April 23, 2002. He wrote more than 300 songs for the LP. “As we were going along, I would do 20 songs and then like drop all of them except the three that everybody felt were the hottest,” he said. “When it was all said and done, I had 30 songs [that] I had to drop to drop down to 14. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be, but it was still kind of tedious.”
