Kendrick Lamar was quoted by New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen after they destroyed the Dallas Cowboys 44-19.
In a clip of the Saints celebrating the victory in the locker room after Sunday (September 15)âs game, Allen was addressing his team and concluded his speech by quoting one of Kendrickâs most iconic lines from his chart-topping Drake diss âNot Like Us.â

He said: âSometimes ya gotta pop out and show em,â to a raucous reaction from his players.
Thereâs a certain amount of irony given K. Dot is headlining next yearâs Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, a move that led to backlash given Lil Wayne had publicly petitioned for the spot.

Nicki Minaj, Birdman, Camâron and Juvenile were among those who spoke out against the selection, arguing that NOLA native Weezy shouldâve been given the gig instead.
Some have directed their anger at JAY-Z, who has helped organize the Super Bowl halftime show since partnering with the NFL in 2019.

Wayne himself expressed his dismay at not being announced as the halftime act in a video shared on Instagram last week.
A somber Weezy began by thanking those who have spoken up in his defense, saying: âFirst of all, I want to say forgive me for the delay. I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking. Iâma say thank you to every voice, every opinion, all the care, love and support out there. Your words turned into arms and held me up when I tried to fall back.â
He then shared his heartbreak and disappointment at the snub and blamed himself for getting his hopes up over the gig, which he had openly coveted prior to Kendrickâs selection.
âThat hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what Iâm talking about. It hurt a whole lot,â he continued. âI blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown, and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that.

âBut I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot. But yâall are fucking amazing. It made me feel like shit not getting this opportunity and when I felt like shit, you guys reminded me that I ainât shit without yâall⊠and thatâs an amazing reality.â
Wayne concluded: âSo, like I said, it broke me and Iâm just trying to put me back together. But my God, have you all helped me. Thanks to all of my peers, my friends, my family, my homies on the sports television and everybody repping me. I really appreciate that, I really do.
