Keith Murray has finally spoken out about an unsettling video of him that was circulating social media back in early June.

During a recent interview on the MReckNRip Show, the Def Squad rapper cleared the air about him allegedly being on drugs and acting erratic in the viral video which arrived in the run-up to his 2023 BET Awards appearance.

“Somebody got some footage of me, and they tried to assassinate my character,” he explained. “But at the same time, they should’ve played it after BET — made it seem like it was current or something, because BET was spectacular. I’m getting a lot of positive feedback.”

He continued: “It was before. Some footage that some people that I don’t know got old footage and tried to bring it out, but God is on my side and I don’t really talk about negativity. Why didn’t they post my BET performance? Whoever those people were. Why didn’t Lord Jamar talk about how gracefully I rocked the stage?”

“Black people always try to bring Black people down when they doing good. The devil always come and try to tear you down when God got a blessing for you. So, I ask Lord Jamar and whoever that other person was, to highlight my show at the BET awards. It went worldwide!”

Murray ended by saying that he’s going to sue anybody who’s looking to make money off him because he’s not “free public domain.”

At the end of June, Lord Jamar took to Instagram to wish his longtime adversary well after a disturbing video emerged online.

At the time, Jamar, who shared the video with his followers while tagging Murray in the post, said the Enigma rapper should get some much-needed help.

“Our brother @keithmurrayrap obviously needs serious help,” he wrote in the caption. “I don’t have to see this man do drugs in front of me to know he’s on drugs. Dude crossed a line with me, that I believe if he wasn’t on drugs he wouldn’t have crossed, so I forgive him. We need to get our brother clean, ’cause this is a horrible look.”

Not too long after the disturbing video surfaced, Def Squad – comprised of Murray, Redman, and EPMD co-founder Erick Sermontook the stage at this year’s BET Awards to let fans reminisce about the “Golden Era” of the ’90s in honor of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary this year.

While the performance was amazing to watch, some fans were confused when Keith Murray showed up because of the aforementioned video. But nonetheless, he rocked his performance of his hit track, “The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World,” which appears on his 1994 album of the same name.
