Kanye West Shares New Nas Album Tracklist

Despite the initial revelation, there hasn’t been much new information of the upcoming Kanye West-produced Nas album.

    That is, until now.

As Kids See Ghosts currently burns up the Billboard 200, Kanye took to the dry erase planning and shared the seven-song tracklist which included the song titles: “Everything,” “Bonjour,” “Not For Radio,” “Adam & Eve,” “Simple Things,” “Cops” and “I Can Explain.”

Earlier in the week, Mr. West also tweeted out his elation for working on Nas’ upcoming twelfth studio album — his first in nearly six years.

“Just wanted to say I’m up in the morning working on the Nas album and I’m so humbled by all the love we’re getting on these albums,” he said. “We’re still the kids we used to be. We’re here creating in real time just having fun. I hear the albums blasting out of the cars when I walk down the street. Kids come up to me and tell me their favorite songs. We’re experimenting with new sounds structures and ideas.”

“We’re trying new ideas without the fear of not being perfect… It’s just a gut feeling sometimes… just making stuff with your friends…”

    1. I always wanted a Nas x Tragedy Khadafi or Nas x AZ collab album. I guess this this Kanye produced album is better than nothing

      1. Nas x AZ I could see happening but Nas x Tragedy Khadafi is just random af. Was that ever hinted at or mentioned?

        1. Most probably, but just of the strength of their similar styles, lyricism and them being from queensbridge.

    2. 5 albums, all different sounds, all different artists,

      Producer of the year….period

classic material on all of them, we will wait a bit longer to see if they withstand the test of time before they are deemed classic albums though

      1. No one is going to agree which of these albums is the classic 10 years from now. Kanye the GOAT bout to top Illmatic with this joint (not that he hasn’t already)

        1. Nobody was waiting on that other wack shit he put out this summer. This is the only one anticipated, so hopefully he doesn’t fuck it up with his eccentricity.

    3. Hopefully this crackhead actually did some good work for the first time in 10 years on this Nas shit. I hope I’m not listening to this wack shit he’s been doing production wise fuck up Nas lyrics when this drops, and he can actually channel at least a semblance of his old self on the beats.

    4. ye’s been busy. DAYTONA, YE, Kids See Ghost and now Nas Album. I’ve gotta give it to him, he the busiest artist this year.

      1. Not really busy when you consider that all 4 Albums have a total length of 2 regular albums and he mostly just sample melodies and put drums on it.

          1. Yeah because you need to do something better to criticise it, you moron. Like you never criticised a Movie or shoes etc.

          2. The guy has a whole team of ninjas in the studio making the beats for him to take credit for

    5. Heard stillmatic b4 anything else Nas did. Album was so good I went and got everything he dropped b4 that. Hopefully it has the same effect on ppl who acknowledge him as one of the greats but don’t really listen.

        1. Who is talking about drake?? Why people always bring a wrong to justify another wrong??? SMFH

        2. Drake is a bitch. And no longer a factor after failing to produce a response. Aubrey, Hold this L….

        1. Because nobody was waiting for it. They were surprised with it. It’s been 6 years since life is good. And it’s just 7 songs. Didn’t illmatic come out when Nas was 17? So was he writing it when he was 11?

        2. To bolster your point, Illmatic actually had 8 tracks, Off top, I think, Halftime was previously released, could be wrong, but for sure one track on there was a previous release.

    6. This will be Nas’ best album, production wise. But he still one of the most overrated rappers in existence. Ye should give these beats to King HOV, he’ll smash them. It’s the ROC!

    7. I’m going into this album with no expectations whatsoever. Been waiting for a new Nas album for awhile now and I’m anxious to hear where he is at creatively. A lot has happened publicly for Nas and so much has happened in the world since his last project. Not saying it’s up to him to address all of the worlds problems or his personal life but it’ll be interesting to see what topics he decides to touch on.

    8. 7 tracks really? Sorry but that’s an EP by definition. Hope this record is just a prelude taster project for Nas actually new album we’ve been waiting 6 years for. If the beats sound like Common’s ‘Be’ or Scarface’s ‘The Fix’ it will be some classic shit but Kanye’s recent production is rushed and sloppy by his own admission he says he likes to experiment and records albums within weeks (which is a equivalent to an inflated egotistical Artist who splashes random paint strokes on the canvas and then passes it off as some creative masterpiece when really its just thoughtless and effortless spoldges of paint). Nas probably has one of the best and most consistent cataloges of albums in Hip-Hop.
I hope this Kanye album is not going to ruin this, however these days reviewers and critics rate albums based on the hype and status of the Artists rather than the music itself, so I’m sure it will be highly regarded regardless of how good it actually is.

      1. “Nas probably has one of the best and most consistent catalogues of albums in hip-hop”?? Really? I’d say its pretty spotty. You have classics like Illmatic, It was written, stillmatic and then you got albums like nastradamus, hip hop is dead. I wouldn’t say it’s that consistent

        1. Agreed. You wanna talk about a consistent catalogue? Snoop Dogg! 18 albums. All shit. Except doggy style. And a song or two of a couple others hahaha

          1. Nah, Blue Carpet and Doggumentary been slept on, but yeah he got hits not really albums, gotta love the productivity tho

          2. Hahaha. It’s no coincidence that Snoop’s lyrics were never as sharp as they were on Doggystyle because the D.O.C. helped write that album.

            1. He didn’t help write that album and has even said as much. Why do hip hop fans insist on spreading stupid shit to make a point? Snoop just got lazy after his first album and The Chronic like 99% of all artists. Does post GRODT 50 sound as good as mix tape 50? Nope, and that’s true for damn near every artist ever across all genres. I mean DMX’s first 2 albums, which are his lit shit, was shit that he had been writing and perfecting for damn near 15 years trying to get on, and shocker, nothing after those 2 lived up to what he came in the game with.

            2. No, he didn’t. He taught him song structure and has even said this on many, many occasions over the years. Why do people insist on completely making shit up to make a point? Snoop just got lazy like 99% of all artists and started phoning it in after The Chronic and his first album. These people run out of shit to say a different way, especially these days with constantly having to drop shit as opposed to you having a 2-year breather between albums back in the day. Even on those schedules with slim carefully selected slim track lists, people were tired of them after two or three albums tops and wanting to hear somebody new say it their way.

        2. +nasty you conveniently left out great, critically acclaimed albums like God’s Son, Untitled, Distant Relatives and Life is Good. And why not throw Lost Tapes in there. Hip Hop is Dead has aged very well.

        3. I Am and Nastradamus in its original form was an awesome double album. A lot of the tracks from Lost Tapes comes from that, plus songs like Come Get Me. If not for that massive leak a few months before release (scrapping and restructuring the double LP as just I Am, with the songs that were’t leaked, and having Nas make Nastradamus almost from scratch in a matter of months), the whole dynamic around Nas would be different.

Sucks that it’s 7 tracks, but I bet Nas will do at least as good a job with Kanye beats as HOV did.

      2. By definition a EP is a vinyl record.
And it`s more about how many minutes you have to work with then the number of tracks.

        1. yeah, and 20-25 minutes is still EP length. There’s no “official” LP minimum length by definition, but an album should AT LEAST crack the half hour mark to be considered an LP / full-length album.

        1. How about a full album?? 10-14 Tracks at least. Huge Nas fan by the way. First solo in years and I give us 7 tracks. Sure it will be fire tho but damn.

    9. This 7 track shit might work for nas hopefully it’ll remove any possibility for garbage tracks being on there

    10. I guess I’m the only one that’s still in my feelings about Kanye lol. I’d take a Nas & No I.D. album over Nas & Ye tho

        1. Ugh. I know. I’m trying hard not to lol. I’m actually pretty sure Kanye will give Nas some heat though. I do however get a sense of desperation on Nas part for some reason

    11. 6 year wait for 7 songs?! It is what it is. I guess I’m okay with it as long as Nas doesn’t take another bunch of years off between projects. At least give us the 2nd installment of Lost Tapes.

Makes you wonder what Nas had finished when he did the Nas Album Done song with Khaled two years ago??

    12. Damn. This was what I was worried about. Next 7 track album. For sure it will be dope, but come on – after 6 years of waiting we get 7 track album? This is one track per year….

    13. If Kanye pulls off this Nas album, it puts him in the top tier Producers, if he isn’t already considered there. Teyana’s album will be just icing on the cake

    14. I want to hear the album that was done last year that DJ Khaled was talking about. I’m willing this project and Teyana’s, but for now I’m staying away from Kanye latest projects.

    15. Can’t wait to hear this album. I’m hoping we still get the supposed concept with the deadly sins. The track list doesn’t right away seem like it goes into the idea but that’s not much to go by although I’ll say everything can go with greed and cops depending on what it’s about can go with wrath. All the others are kind of vague but hoping for nas to give us his best album this decade at least. Life is good the idea of it was dope just wasn’t executed the best to me. Somehow jay did the “grown man bars” thing better as a project than nas and nas been kicking grown shit since 04 maybe.

    16. I get that 7 tracks is dissapointing but if anyone can make it a classic, nas can. Illmatic was 10 tracks with an interlude so basically a 9 song album.

    17. gave up on ye after 808 and heartbreaks anything that era and after is fuckin wack and trash… too bad ye dont got consequence and common workin wit him anymore all his shit now sucks!! and it gets worse every year

    18. Fuck Kanye! Been making garbage beats for years. Probably most overrated producer of all time.
I want the DJ Premier x Nas album!

      1. Bruh you can say anything you like about Kanye, he has some wrong opinions about the world and he may not be as good as he was. But don’t say shit about his producing skills. He’s definitely one of the greatest of all time.
