Kanye West Reportedly Ready To Retire From Music

Kanye West may soon be ready to call it quits with his rap career, according to a source who spoke with Page Six recently. Page Six reports that ‘Ye is considering retiring from music to focus on a career in fashion.

The source revealed that due to Kanye’s lack of time for projects outside of music, his upcoming line with adidas has already been pushed back four times.

“After his next [collaboration] with Paul McCartney comes out, he’s going to step away from music and concentrate on clothing…He got a $15 million signing bonus from Adidas, but his line has been pushed back four times because he hasn’t had enough time to work on it,” a source said while speaking with Page Six.

Over the past few years, the Chicago, Illinois lyricist has worked with a number of brands including Nike, Louis Vuitton, BAPE, and Giuseppe Zanotti. Most recently, Kanye entered into a partnership with adidas to collaborate on a clothing line and a new sneaker.

Despite news of Kanye’s possible retirement, the official Twitter account for Roc Nation has confirmed that the rapper will go on tour in 2015.

According to XXLMag.com, news of Kanye’s 2015 tour may have been shared by mistake due to an auction listing for Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, which was posted on the Gavel & Grand website.

The description for the listing, titled the Kanye West Tour experience, read: “Be Kanye West’s special front row VIP guest for his upcoming North American 2015 tour. Experience a rare opportunity meet & greet with the icon.”

As of today (December 3), the starting bid for the Kanye West Tour experience starts at $15,000.

    1. GREAT! Get tha FCK outta thay way……. Mr. Reality TV chaser! YEEZUS was BOO BOO, not ONE CLASSIC on tha WHOLE album & the masks & skirts & sht are just weirder & weider, & pretentious! Please GO AWAY & NEVER be heard from again! Lost cause…………….

    2. That’s the day hiphop just got better. When Kardashian decided to not destroy rap. Now if we can get the rest of his wack crew (“Oh God” Sean, John Legend (of crap),) to retire, hiphop would be better off.

      1. Kayne West leaving will be the best thing that happened to hiphop. Big Sean had to keep paying radio stations in order for them to play his flop song with e-40.

    3. Kanye may retire, the same way Jay-Z did, but his ego is too big for him to leave music for long.

A break from music would be good for him, get the creativity flowing again.

I’ve honestly like all of his albums, and will always cop a Kanye album, they’re all different, but all better than half the shit other artists are putting out.

    4. kanye is a over publicized fruit. mr. kardashian is a media whore and a low level talent that’s overblown by low life trash with a narrow perspective on music and the arts. the people that proclaim kanye a “genius” are typically very stupid people. examples being the crack baby filth that fill these comment pages. major artists work with him to get a rub off. guys like paul mccartney who don’t and never will understand hip hop culture will lend a hand to get some love by a different generation unaware of his contributions to the arts. let this guy live out his life as a tmz prop and fashion mark because it’s clearly what he’s always wanted. he’s happy. good for him.

    5. I’d love to see someone take this Hip Hop genre of music as serious as other entertainers in other genres take theirs. It’s alright to invest time in other ventures and show that people are capable of doing what their minds are set to do but at the same time don’t alienate the fan base that’s been riding since day 1. I wish him well but I also wish he would continue to make the good stuff we learned to love him for.

    6. LMAO foh.. i was reading that like ok he must have an album coming then i seen his tour info and it all made since…

‘get your last chance to see kanye westthe great in tour for a small price of 200 dollars’ LOL you couldnt pay me to go to his concert to hear his rambling and crying and shit..only concert where people leave depressed.

    7. Good,I never thought Kanye was good rapper anyway very talented producer though and he should’ve kept it that way drop a verse here and there but keep the main focus on making beats because the nigga can’t rap for shit imo I don’t know about ya’ll but if a nigga can’t spit don’t touch the mic leave that to niggas that got skill. I liked his first two albums production wise but dudes lyrics were wack as fuck.

    8. About time, after Graduation it went downhill. He became everything he clowned and made fun of in College Dropout.

      1. In my opinion, the first 3 albums were borderline masterpieces. Although Graduation wasn’t as lyrical as the first two, i still l think it was a dope cohesive project. I didn’t rock with 808’S initially but over time I’ve grown to like a couple of songs from the project. Not a fan of MBDTF or Yeezus. I would agree Kanye started to roll downhill after Graduation, but there are still a few songs he’s released that I definitely enjoy a lot. I think its better to be a fan of certain projects instead of the actual artist because real artists grow and attempt to create new inspiring art. While I am not a fan of his art as of late I still respect him as an artist for not staying stagnant and his influence on hip hop & pop culture is undeniable.

    9. Headline: “Kanye West reportedly ready to retire from music.”

Subtext: “Roc Nation confirms that Kanye West will go on tour in 2015.”

You guys are becoming a fucking joke man.

    10. Kanye is whack as hell now. Clown city. Always bitching about something. G Unit running hip hop. Period. Anybody who says anything different probably listens to that commercial bull shit.

      1. Nigga, go home. G-Unit ain’t ran shit since 2006. 50 can’t even make hits the same way and that’s coming from someone who hasn’t listened to the radio in over two years. 50 Cent only has money now because he is a good business man and without 50 Cent, G-Unit would be a bunch of C-List niggas.

    11. I am truly disappointed with the state of hip-hop. most of the artists are black men who come from very humble beginnings. they have become very wealthy in spite of many hurdles and obstacles in front of them. they, however, with their success have a great opportunity to lift up their communities and speak up about racial injustice – ferguson, california, cleveland, nyc. instead kanye, nas, jay-z, lil wayne, fifty, fab, drake, say nothing. some of you may say they don’t have to. others may say I should stop preaching. if you think that, also know this, the rights you enjoy came from civil disobedience and disturbance. many black celebrities stood up with the brother and sisters in the streets then to advance the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. if these people are not willing to support us and those who look like them why should we continue to support them. have courage brothers. don’t just talk about it in a song.

      1. PEOPLE LIKE YOU JUST MAKE ME SICK!!!! IT’S NOT THEIR FUCKIN’ JOB OR OBLIGATION!!!! IT’S THEIR RIGHT AND CHOICE TO BE INVOLVED OR NOT INVOLVED!!!! HOW ABOUT YOU STOP POINTING YOUR FINGER AT OTHERS AND DO SOMETHING YOURSELF!!!! YOU DON’T NEED A CAMERA OR MIC IN FRONT OF YOU OR BE FAMOUS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE OR HAVE A VOICE!!!! SO SOMETHING!!!!

        DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

      1. YEAAAH I KNOW!!!JUST TOOK OUT THE CD FROM MY BOOMBOX AND STARTED JUMPIN ON IT,AND THEN I THREW IT ON THE ROAD,JUMPED IN MY CAR,DROVE OVER IT ONLY TO BACK ALL OVER IT AGAIN!THEN I TOOK THE REMAINS OF THE CD,RAN INSIDE,SMASHED IT WITH MY HAMMER,VACUUM`D THE REMAINS,EMPTIED THE VACUUM CLEANER WITH THE REMAINS OF THE CD IN THE BLENDER,MADE A MARGARITHA,INVITED MY NEIGHBOR WHO I HATE IN THE MOOOST HATIN WAY AND OFFERED HIM THE DRINK!!!TALK ABOUT MAKIN A RUCKUS!!!

    12. Kanye is the greatest complete hip-hop artist ever. The amount of hate he brings just stands as a testament to how many people have no taste in real hip-hop, and underlines the facts of why sales are being pushed to BS artists like Pitbull, Iggy, etc. etc. All real hip-hop fans should ask themselves why they have such negative opinions of an artist based on his personal life and celebrity status instead of his music. The facts are that Pharoahe, Kweli, Doom and a very large amount of underground and/or independent artists, who are pushing boundaries and getting respect from anti-mainstream hip-hop fans, all admit that his body of work has forever changed hip-hop for the better, and that he is a musical genius. There has never been an artist within hip-hop who has continually had his music hailed by critics and still remain selling as well as he has.

      1. Kanye is good but not the GOAT or even close to the GOAT, sorry. He has made a mark on hip hop I can agree with that but from a lyrics stand point he is not top 20, I think as an overall hip hop artists he is but not in the top 5 to ever do it.

      2. evan you seriously know anything about hip hop? but think shit like yeezus and black skinhead is good music well then your crazy. who gives a fuck if critics think its good there fools who are scared to tell the truth only motherfuckers like charleman tell the truth

      3. I said complete hip-hop artist ever. Although his lyrics have progressed over his career, peeking at MBDTF, I would take Pharoahe,Copywrite, Gift of Gab and even though I’m not a huge fan, Eminem for the greatest technical abilities. As for the GOAT, considering influence on hip-hop, classic albums and many of the other intangibles that must be considered when stating an opinion on this, I would say Ghostface, Jay-Z, Nas and Common would all be in the running. But my opinion remains, Kanye West is the greatest overall Hip-Hop artist ever.

    13. kanye your not jesus!! your a joke.

what the fuck happened to you son, like first 3 albums dope as fuck boy and then fuck knows, just retire now

      1. You don’t understand Jesus, do you? He helped people get over their fears of drowning and death. Kanye helps people get over their fears of racism, sexism, homophobia, religion, and public speaking.

    14. Typical stunt that these fake pop rappers do. Gay-Z already did this and even Too $short did it. They always come back and make even worse albums that people will help support to platinum status and claim they are the next illmatic.

    15. Anyone can drop hate on here, but being real, dude has drop CLASSICS. It hurts to see Kanye’s lyrical content dwindle on Yeezus (and other recent tracks), so if he wants to retire, let it be sooner than later if he’s going to decline. If Kanye thinks he can do one more lyrical content-worthy album, bring it on. Go out on a high note. If not, then step away gracefully. Peace.

    16.
