Kanye West made an unlikely cameo in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, but it’s not the blockbuster credit that some fans may have expected.
Fans noticed what appears to be a Yeezy mural in the background of a scene starring Edward Norton in the Rian Johnson-directed film, with the artwork showing Kanye looking like a prophet wearing a white robe while holding a chalice and a torch.
“Uhm… On Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is this Kanye West,” one eagle-eyed viewer tweeted before a Kanye West fan account picked up the clip days later after the murder mystery arrived on Netflix for Christmas weekend.
Many were thrown off by the Ye cameo considering several brands and organizations have cut ties with the Chicago-bred mogul following his recent flurry of antisemitic remarks, but the sequel began filming in September 2021 long before his damaging comments.
The sequel to 2019’s Knives Out, Glass Onion received a limited-theater release in November before making its streaming debut on Netflix last week. The film finds Daniel Craig reprising his role as the private investigator Benoit Blanc, alongside a new cast comprised of Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson and more.
According to Variety, Netflix estimates that 35 million households tuned into Glass Onion over the holiday weekend.
Kanye West, meanwhile, has laid low this holiday season, keeping his name out of the spotlight and the headlines. However, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian recently appeared on Angie Martinez’s IRL podcast where she admitted co-parenting with Ye is “really fucking hard.”
“If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” she said of her four kids and the drama surrounding their father. “That’s really heavy grown-up shit that they’re not ready to deal with. That they are not ready to deal with and when they are, we’ll have those conversations.
“I’ll be so prepared. But until then I’ll do anything to keep their life as normal as possible. One day my kids will thank me for sitting here and not bashing their dad when I could. All the crazy shit. They’ll thank me and I’ll privately answer anything that they want to know. It’s not my place anymore to jump in.”

I just cant get into netflix type shows. It could be a love scene with corny jokes, than two minutes they are shooting zombies or fighting ninjas before another love scene comes up. What ever happened to seperating man cave movies from chick flicks ? If women talk about a show at work, its an automatic pass for me. I dont even know what “glass onion” is about, but the title is stupid enough for me pass. As far as Kanye, im sure this shit was filmed over a year ago before Kanye was “cancelled” by the woke mob. The scene with his picture was probably an important scene and there was no budget to film it again or edit Kanye out. Leave it to hip hop DX to make a story over a backround prop to trigger the woke mob.
You sound like an uncultured idiot. Why do people post about shit they know nothing about? What’s the point? I’m the real idiot though for even being in the comment section…
You are about as wrong as you could possibly be on everything you said here. Your posts are, without exception, always idiotic.
Glass Onion is the name of the 3rd song on the White Album.
Knives Out was not a Netflix movie, only the sequel. Netflix is hit and miss. But do not limit yourself. Knives Out was a decent movie. And you know, check out the White Album maybe.
They were all idiot narcissists who believed in their own bullshit. Its really not that deep.
Both Knives Out movies are great. I did not even notice Ye
