Kanye West is starting the new year off on a good note, as his former business manager has decided to dismiss his lawsuit that accused Ye of breaching their contract.

Radar Online obtained documents on Wednesday (January 3), revealing that Thomas St. John had informed the court he was dismissing the entire action of all parties and all causes of actions. In turn, Kanye also dropped his countersuit for what he’d claimed was a contract signed under duress.

St. John sued the “Bound 2” rapper for upwards of $4.5 million in October 2022, alleging breach of contract. He claimed Kanye reneged on paying him a promised $300,000 a month for a minimum of 18 months to manage his business and finances, but that it was abruptly terminated after only three months.

In April 2023, Ye returned the favor and countersued for the three payments he’d made totaling $900,000 – claiming that he was sleep-deprived and stressed thanks to his then-impending divorce from Kim Kardashian, thus leaving him in a less-than-ideal frame of mind to enter into a contract of any sort.

“By 2022, Ye’s artistic and professional career took a turn for the worse as a result of his various antics and public statements. Ye needed guidance from a respected, sophisticated business manager who could right the ship and guide his career going forward,” read the paperwork, thus substantiating the claim that the contract was unenforceable and pursued through “constructive fraud.”

On the music side of things, Kanye West’s collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign, Vultures, has been pushed back once again.

On Tuesday (January 2), a representative for Ye confirmed to Forbes that the effort is no longer arriving on January 12 and has no fixed release date. This is now the third time that the project, which was originally scheduled to drop on December 31, has been pushed back.

Shortly after, Ye’s longtime collaborator Malik Yusef posted a photo on Instagram of Ty in the studio and in the comments section claimed that the singer was rerecording all of his parts for the album.
