Kanye West had requested to perform a free show for his fans in Brazil but the country’s government has given him a firm denial.

West had been looking to embark on a world tour that would take him as far as Australia and the Middle East but promoters and venues are reluctant to deal with the controversial rapper.

According to The U.S. Sun, West was hoping to perform in Brazil, specifically a free concert on Rio De Janiero’s famous Copacabana beach, recreating a moment created by the Rolling Stones in 2006.

However, Brazilian authorities have turned down Kanye’s application for a concert because of his “controversial” image and recent antisemitic comments.

In addition to the free show on Copacabana, Kanye also looked at performing at Rio’s Maracena Stadium and the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium, but both locations were rejected.

Promoters and local government in Sao Paolo, Salvador and Belo Horizonte also refused to deal with West.

West has not yet commented on the failure to book a concert in the South American country.

West apparently recently rehired former manager John Monopoly to help put together a world tour which has struggled to get off the ground as major tour operators AEG and Live Nation refuse to work with him because of his antisemitic remarks in recent years.

“We just sold out the United Center in seven minutes and I just wanted to express to everybody out there to see if anybody can help with this,” West says in the video. “It’s the only arena I had access to in the past year. And when I call, people say there’s no availables for me and you know why that is. If there’s anybody out there that can help with this, please do.”

West has been attempting to get booked at landmark venues such as the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Great Wall of China and Corcovado Mountain in Brazil.
