Kanye West & Annie Leibovitz Release Joint Statement Regarding Wedding Photography

Kanye West and Annie Leibovitz have released a joint statement, according to a press release from Def Jam Recordings.

The statement says that West was frustrated that he could not collaborate with famed photographer Leibovitz, but that the rapper does not blame her for not being his wedding photographer. “Kanye and Annie’s representatives were in negotiations for weeks that were not completed by the time of the wedding,” the statement says.

A rep for Leibovitz says the following: “Annie would have been happy to do the portrait but she was never confirmed.”

Leibovitz was recently referenced in Kanye’s recent Cannes Lions panel with Steve Stoute and Ben Horowitz.

“Picture this,” Kanye said. “The most-liked Instagram photo of all time, shot by Annie Leibovitz. Oh, I’m sorry for dreaming out loud. Again.”

According to the Def Jam statement, West said this because he was “referencing Annie as an example of how to merge culture and tech.”

Leibovitz is a famed photographer who shot Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for Vogue

      1. It’s not the site. It’s what the culture has turned into. The site is a reflection. Fans are half the time trolls and are obsessed with pop culture. Rappers are obsessed with money. The sites are obsessed with pleasing the fans pop culture need to generate money from ads.
