Just Blaze has paid tribute to 1500 Or Nothin‘s Uncle Chucc amid news the Los Angeles-based musician has passed away.

The legendary producer made a post honoring Chucc (real name Charles Hamilton) on Instagram on Friday (January 27), referring to the 1500 collective as his “little brothers.” Just himself was a part of the group, which included singers, songwriters, producers and musicians.

“The @1500ornothin collective have all been like my little brothers since they were actual children,” he began. “It been a honor to watch them grow in life and in their craft. Without them, some of my best work would not be what it is.”

He continued: “RIP @iamunclechucc. Youve been a part of some of my favorite and most defining moments during my journey and in the lives of millions of others. You are loved and will be missed.”

Many other tributes poured in on social media from Chucc’s peers.

“I got my first placement with Uncle Chucc,” Problem wrote. “He became my real friend. Not the industry kind that go quiet when they think they don’t need you. this shit got me fucked up.”

A-Trak wrote: “Damn. RIP @unclechucc. He sang on my song Free with @leefossmusic. Incredibly talented. Sending love to the whole @1500orNOTHIN family.”

“Really can’t believe I’m typing this .. RIP Uncle Chucc 1500 [Pray hands, heart, two crying emojis],” DJ Green Lantern tweeted. “life is too short .. gotta stay prayed up . Love.”

DJ Pooh, Kenyon Dixon and a number of others also shared kind words for Uncle Chucc.

Uncle Chucc was a talented musician, holding down the piano, drums, guitar, bass, percussion and vocals throughout his productions over the years.

In 2012, he released a solo album under Snoop Dogg’s Doggy Style Records named Be Your Teddy Bear, and in 2013, he dropped a gospel album with The Zion Messengers titled No One But You.

As for 1500 or Nothin’, the collective have lent their writing, production and instrumental talents to records by the likes of JAY-Z, Kanye West, T.I., Justin Timberlake, Asher Roth, Bruno Mars, B.o.B. and more over the years.

They’ve also performed live alongside Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, The Game, and Faith Evans.
