Jim Jones and Juelz Santana have checked Steph Curry and Klay Thompson over the Splash Brothers name.

The Dipset rappers claimed on Thursday (December 21) that they have referred to themselves as the Splash Bros long before Curry and Thompson were even Golden State Warrior teammates.

“The original Splash Bros,” Capo declared. “I don’t know what Steph and Klay was talking about but we been splashing before they been balling. We got the receipts to show it. Right now we trying to figure out who decides war.

Jones continued: “Stop playing with us. This ain’t fashion, this is splashing. Pardon the drip.”

Juelz added: “Dipset, us. You see me in the middle of Harlem.”

Fans had plenty to say about Jim’s spicy commentary in the comment section.

“One day they will stop acting like teenagers,” one person said while another chimed in: “Of course you were spashing before the splash brothers, I was trapping for they came in da league.”

While Jimmy and Juelz were splashing thanks to their fashion sense, Klay and Steph — who have been Golden State Warriors teammates since 2011 and have each won four NBA championships — earned the nickname for their jump-shooting ability on the basketball court.

The first use of the nickname to refer to the duo appeared in 2012. Writer Brian Witt made labeled them as the Splash Brothers in a a tweet following a match-up with the Charlotte Bobcats in which Steph and Klay combined for 25 points and seven three-pointers in the first half.

Steph Curry has plenty of ties to Hip Hop, whether it be the countless name-drops on songs like Sexyy Red’s “SkeeYee” or his production company Unanimous Media, which is currently developing an upcoming Mac Dre documentary.

Though it’s not clear when the project will be ready for screening, the family of the Bay Area rapper, whose life was cut short in 2004 are involved in the project  and are excited about what’s to come.
