Joe Budden has hinted at a possible return to the booth and could have some new music on the way with Just Blaze.

Budden revealed on Sunday’s (November 26) episode of his eponymous podcast that he’s “had enough” of talking about rappers and might pick up a pen again and unretire to address his rap peers with some bars.

“Don’t worry, I called Just Blaze the other day,” Budden said. “I’m done talking about these rappers. Imma do it myself. I’ll do it myself. Imma listen to what Just Blaze has in there that might make somebody wanna rap.”

JB’s co-hosts found the comments interesting and asked if that meant he was returning to rapping once again.

“Then I’m laying a 15-minute record for sale for $20,” he explained. “Might be an EP but you gon’ get this first track for $20. Whenever that is I don’t want to hype fans up to think that’s coming soon. Me and Just Blaze have real jobs.”

In 2018, Joe Budden officially retired from rapping to fully lean into his podcast and being a media personality. His last solo album had arrived in 2016 with Rage & The Machine.

Budden recent failure to criticize a fellow artist led to public backlash and prompted him to explain why he’s been silent in regards to the Diddy and Cassie lawsuit.

“I did it for legal reasons,” he began. “I did it for a myriad of reasons. But first and foremost, the legal portion … y’all ain’t ’bout to clip me up or clip us up or clip this set up and just attach it to whatever story and narrative you wanna attach it to.

“I been on this here internet a long time before some of y’all was born out there. I know how it goes, and I know how the blog sites work on a slow weekend. I know what they do from experience because they mostly use me to do it. I don’t be trying to give them nothing.”

He added: “I be in my little hut somewhere and they go dig something up. They say that you responding to something that you not responding to. They take one piece and if they think you talking about it, they put some text to it that’s gon’ make you look and sound a certain way.”
