Jin has had an unconventional career. The path to his
latest LP I Promise has gone through battles (pun intended),
celebration, doubt, confusion and resurrection. Now, after a brief hiatus to
tour, organize a stand-up comedy event and to record two new LPs (not to
mention some more mixtapes), the rapper is ready to unveil his latest music by
year’s end.
The album is done, according
to Jin who released a statement via MySpace this weekend.
It’s some of the best music I’ve
recorded thus far in my tumultuous career,
he announced.
Furthermore, it appears that the
album will see a store near you before we all welcome 2007. As Jin noted, it
may be “the perfect stocking stuffer.”
Earlier this year, he spoke with us
about the new album. He also opened up about ABC: American Born
Chinese, an album he is recording completely in Cantonese. However, that
album may have to wait until ’07.
