Jim Jones not only walked away with a loss in the Verzuz battle against The LOX but he also contracted COVID-19.
Capo is slated to appear on an upcoming episode of Drink Champs and in a teaser he revealed that he caught Covid for the first time right after the epic 2021 Verzuz battle in NYC.

“I caught Covid after the Verzuz,” Jones admitted. “That was the only time I got Covid. The LOX gave me Covid. On top of everything that night, they gave me Covid. I couldn’t win for nothing.”
Although The LOX got the best of Jimmy and Dipset that night, all was not lost for Jones during the pandemic.

When most people stayed inside to avoid Covid, the Harlem native worked even harder and delivered nearly 300 features to keep his brand visible as a key cog in the ever-changing rap zeitgeist.
“Doing that putting me visibly all over because I did so many features like damn near 300 features and it was lucrative,” he added.

Earlier this year, Jim Jones proposed the idea of getting a rematch with The LOX in a Verzuz battle and doing it at the actual Madison Square Garden arena rather than the Hulu Theater.
“I don’t think that energy will ever be duplicated outside of New York unless we go for the rematch, you heard?” he said to AllHipHop. “Last time, there was a lot going on. The venue was way too small. There were people on my back. There were people on people’s shoulders in there.
“I think we need proper respect of doing it in the Garden, the big Garden, with proper security, set up right so everybody have breathing room. Not using it as no excuse, but we need a rematch for the city. I’m puttin’ it out there like Rocky after he lost to Apollo Creed … And we gonna be ready like hot spaghetti.”

Weeks later, Jadakiss responded that he was open to a potential rematch squaring off with Dipset after taking round one decisively.
“You gotta talk to my advisors,” Kiss replied to VIBE with a laugh. “I would love to run it back, you know what I mean? Why not? For sure.”
