“He has so much knowledge,” Tyler said. “Jermaine Dupri is one of our greats. Truly, one of our greats, like, I was listening to “Sweetheart” by him and Mariah Carey off of that album. And I’m listening to this, and I’m like, ‘I didn’t even know Jermaine Dupri was writing these songs.’ And by the way: I didn’t know! Pharrell told me! And I’m like, ‘n-gga, what?’ Yeah! This n-gga be writing these songs!”

Dupri then took to Instagram on Friday (June 9), reposting a portion of the interview, and teased a potential collaboration between the two.

“Yo!!! @feliciathegoat I was contemplating back-and-forth,” he wrote. “If I should even post this, but what I feel is what I write and I felt the need to let everybody know I truly appreciate your amazing words. Thank You 🙏🏾 I’m in the studio right now waiting for you to tell me when you’re ready. lol.”

Tyler, The Creator is just the latest rapper to give Jermaine Dupri his much-deserved high praise.

On Wednesday (June 6), JD shared an impromptu freestyle on social media just to make sure fans know that he’s still got it — and Diddy was thrilled to cheer on his fellow mogul.

Judging from JD’s bars, the 50-year-old rapper and producer hasn’t lost a step as he bounced over the wavy, bouncy beat: “I’m having at your shit/ Knowing I’m a short n-gga/ Big check, high-tech, I ain’t gotta force shit/ Cappin’, bring me that ass and watch you lose it, abuse it, and I ain’t gone stop you/ The illest, I kill this/ This summer you feel this…”
