Jeezy has made a career out of providing “thug motivation” through his pioneering trap anthems, and now the Atlanta rap legend is serving up his signature brand of street wisdom through a different medium: his very first book.

Announced on Tuesday (June 13), Adversity For Sale: Ya Gotta Believe finds Jeezy sharing life lessons aimed at helping readers find success, deal with setbacks and avoid some of the mistakes that he’s made throughout his own journey to wealth and stardom.

The book draws on the mogul’s tough upbringing and early days hustling, as well as his trailblazing career in music from an independent mixtape artist to a Grammy-winning, multi-platinum rap star and record label owner.

“Jeezy will use parts of his story to illustrate some rules and principles he’s used to get him through his darkest days and kept him going, even when it felt impossible to go any further and the odds stacked against him felt insurmountable,” reads a press release. “Through this book, his goal is to give everyone from the block to the boardroom a message of hope to get through their days.”

“This is for all my day ones and everybody that’s been down with me since the beginning,” Jeezy wrote on Instagram. “This is the greatest story never told. In this motivational memoir, I use parts of my life story, every step, every mishap, every up and down that I’ve gone through to get to this point in my life to motivate the hustlers, entrepreneurs, and believers.”

Adversity For Sale: Ya Gotta Believe hits shelves on August 8 via HarperCollins Leadership. Pre-orders are available here.

Jeezy is just the latest rapper to pivot into the world of publishing following the likes of JAY-Z (Decoded), 50 Cent (Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter), Rick Ross (The Perfect Day to Boss Up), Fat Joe (The Book of Jose) and RZA (The Tao of Wu).

While his upcoming book sees him branching out creatively and expanding his already multi-faceted business empire, the CTE boss remains a powerful presence on the mic.

Last October, he reunited with Gangsta Grillz general DJ Drama to release Snofall, a hefty, hard-hitting album boasting appearances from Lil Durk, EST Gee and 42 Dugg.

The project earned a four out of five score from HipHopDX, with writer Riley Wallace hailing it as “a grand return to form, where Jeezy sounds refreshed and hungry.”

The ATL veteran continued to mix the new with the nostalgic in April when he joined Kodak Black on the remix to Boosie Badazz’s “Rocketman,” which served as a tribute to the late TakeOff.

“I see my n-gga layin’ stiff and I ain’t shed a tear/ Done lost 12 of my partners in a half a year/ The other day, I lost my n-gga, plus my auntie sick/ Them n-ggas killed my n-gga, robbed him for a half a brick,” Jeezy rapped on the mournful song.
